Starbucks Liverpool You Are Here Mug - The Royal Liver Building Every UK Collector Needs

Starbucks Liverpool You Are Here Mug - The Royal Liver Building Every UK Collector Needs

Hey coffee lovers, hope your morning is off to a great start! ☕ I have been on a serious You Are Here UK kick lately and the piece I am talking about today is one I have wanted for a while now. The Starbucks Liverpool You Are Here Mug is everything I love about this series, wrapped up in the most distinctly British color palette I have ever seen on a ceramic piece.

Liverpool in a Mug

Let me start by saying that Liverpool is one of those cities that feels like it deserves a collector mug more than almost anywhere else in England. The music history alone would be enough, but it is the waterfront that really gives this piece its visual identity. The You Are Here mug leads with the iconic Royal Liver Building, one of the most recognizable skyline landmarks in all of the United Kingdom. That distinctive green clock tower with the Liver Birds perched on top is instantly recognizable, and seeing it rendered on a ceramic coffee mug just hits differently.

On the reverse, the design features the Mersey Ferry, the famous river crossing that has been running passengers across the Mersey since the 12th century. If you have ever done the Ferry Cross the Mersey experience, you know exactly why this detail makes the design feel complete. The waterfront and the ferry together tell the story of Liverpool better than almost any other pairing could.

What the Mug Looks Like

The color palette is deep, rich hunter green, which gives this piece a completely different feel from the warmer earth tones you often see in European city releases. It is elegant and a little moody, in the best possible way. The artwork wraps around the mug in the classic You Are Here style with the siren logo centered and the city name printed cleanly on the body.

  • 14 oz ceramic construction, dishwasher and microwave safe
  • Deep hunter green as the signature color throughout
  • Royal Liver Building illustrated on the front with detailed architectural line work
  • Mersey Ferry featured on the reverse
  • Standard gift box presentation
There is something about getting a city-specific You Are Here mug that feels like a little travel souvenir, even when you have never actually been there. Liverpool's dark green and that Liver Building illustration make me feel like I need to book a flight immediately just to justify adding it to my shelf.

The Royal Liver Building Detail

The Royal Liver Building is genuinely one of the most distinctive pieces of architecture in England. Completed in 1911, it was one of the first major buildings in the world to be constructed using reinforced concrete, and the two clock towers topped with the mythical Liver Birds have become the definitive symbol of the city. Seeing that silhouette on a Starbucks mug is the kind of detail that makes You Are Here collectors very happy, because it signals that the design team really did their homework on which landmark defines Liverpool's identity.

Collector Notes

The Liverpool You Are Here mug is part of the UK city series, which makes it a natural companion to London, Edinburgh, and other British releases in your display. It was sold at UK Starbucks locations, and while it shows up on the secondary market reasonably often, finding a clean copy with the original gift box takes a little searching. The deep green color makes this one especially easy to style on a coffee bar or alongside other international You Are Here pieces without clashing.

If you are building an England-specific display or a broader UK collection, Liverpool is one of the essential additions. It pairs beautifully with the London release for a Mersey versus Thames kind of storytelling on the shelf.

This one is absolutely on my radar and I cannot stop thinking about that green. It is sitting right at the top of my needs list in the Collectiblz app, and I will be very happy the day it shows up at a price I can justify. 🫶
