Borderlands 3: Tyreen Calypso TUBBZ (First Edition) Review - The God Queen Duck Has Arrived
Hey there, Vault Hunters! 🦆
If you've ever dreamed of having one of Borderlands 3's most charismatic villains sitting on your shelf without the whole galaxy-threatening apocalypse thing, then the Borderlands 3: Tyreen Calypso TUBBZ (First Edition) is calling your name. This isn't just another rubber duck, it's the God Queen of the Calypso Twins transformed into the most dangerous collectible you'll ever display with pride.
The Siren Streamer Gets the Duck Treatment
Tyreen Calypso is one of gaming's most memorable antagonists, and this Tubbz captures her twisted charisma perfectly. As one half of the infamous Calypso Twins and a siren with the ability to leech power from others, Tyreen brought a fresh, terrifying energy to Borderlands 3. She wasn't just a villain, she was a cult leader, a livestreamer, and an apocalyptic force all rolled into one unforgettable package. And now she's a duck.
This First Edition Tubbz brings Tyreen's signature look to life in rubber duck form. The sculpt captures her distinctive asymmetrical hairstyle with that iconic shaved side and flowing locks, her siren tattoos glowing with menace, and her confident, almost mocking expression that says "Like, follow, and obey." Every detail screams Tyreen, from her punk-rock aesthetic to the way she commands attention even as a three-inch collectible.
Sculpt Details That Kill
The attention to detail on this Tubbz is absolutely insane. Tyreen's outfit is faithfully recreated with her signature vest, straps, and that unmistakable bandit queen style that defined her character. The siren markings are rendered with precision, capturing the otherworldly power that made her so formidable. Her pose radiates confidence and superiority, just like when she was broadcasting her cult's message across the galaxy.
The facial expression is what really sells this piece. There's that smug, self-assured smirk that Tyreen always wore, the one that said she was three steps ahead and enjoying every second of it. The eyes have that gleam of someone who knows they're the star of the show, which is perfectly on-brand for a villain who literally livestreamed her conquest.
Paint and Color Perfection
The paint application on this Tubbz is phenomenal. The colors pop with that signature Borderlands cel-shaded aesthetic, bringing Tyreen's vibrant and dangerous look to your collection. The siren tattoos feature that glowing blue energy that fans will instantly recognize, contrasting beautifully against her skin tone. Her hair shows depth and dimension with multiple shades that give it real texture and life.
The outfit details are crisp and clean, with every strap, buckle, and piece of her bandit-chic wardrobe rendered in sharp detail. There's a wonderful balance between the bright, eye-catching elements and the darker, grittier tones that reflect Pandora's harsh aesthetic. The finish has just enough sheen to make the whole piece feel premium without being overly glossy.
A Personal Pandoran Memory
I'll never forget the first time I booted up Borderlands 3 and saw those opening scenes with the Calypso Twins. Tyreen's voice boomed through my speakers with that perfect mix of charm and menace, and I immediately knew this was going to be a wild ride. The way she mocked the Crimson Raiders, turned bandits into fanatical followers, and treated the entire apocalypse like content for her followers was brilliantly twisted.
That moment when she leeched Troy's powers during one of their broadcasts? Chilling. Or when she casually dropped lines like "Don't forget to like, follow, and obey!" while literally absorbing the life force of vault monsters? Pure villain gold. Tyreen brought a modern, social media-influenced edge to the Borderlands universe that felt fresh and terrifying in equal measure.
Display Ideas for Your God Queen
This Tyreen Calypso Tubbz commands attention wherever you place her. She's perfect for your gaming desk, positioned right next to your monitor like she's ready to livestream your gaming sessions. Pair her with the Troy Calypso Tubbz to recreate the unstoppable twin threat that nearly destroyed the galaxy. She also looks fantastic on a Borderlands-themed shelf alongside other vault hunters and villains from across the series.
Gaming setup enthusiasts will love how she adds that pop of color and personality to any space. Position her near your streaming setup for some meta commentary, or display her with other siren-themed collectibles to celebrate Borderlands' most powerful characters. The compact size means she fits anywhere, but her presence is anything but small.
Collector Notes: First Edition Fame
As a First Edition release, this Tyreen Calypso Tubbz holds special significance for serious collectors. First editions often become sought-after pieces as product lines evolve, making this an excellent investment for Borderlands fans and Tubbz enthusiasts alike. She's part of the growing Borderlands Tubbz collection that includes Moxxi, Lilith, Handsome Jack, and Troy, making her essential for anyone building the complete Pandoran duck squad.
The "First Edition" designation means this is the original production run of this particular design, adding that extra layer of collectibility. Pair her with her twin brother Troy for the complete Calypso experience, or display her alongside classic vault hunters to show the eternal struggle between heroes and villains. She's also perfect for fans who appreciate strong female antagonists in gaming.
Actually, I tracked one of these down at a local collectibles shop during a lunch break hunt a few months back, and I couldn't resist. Now she sits proudly on my shelf, marked in the Collectiblz app with the rest of my growing Borderlands collection. If you're building your own vault of gaming memorabilia, I definitely recommend using the app to keep track of which Tubbz you have and which ones you're still hunting. It's been a game-changer for organizing my collection and making sure I don't accidentally buy duplicates.
