The Last of Us Ellie TUBBZ Review - Endure and Survive in Duck Form
Survivors, assemble! 🦆✨
If you've been navigating the post-apocalyptic wasteland of collectibles, searching for that perfect piece that captures both heart and grit, your journey ends here. The Last of Us Ellie TUBBZ has arrived, and she's bringing all the determination, courage, and survival instinct that made us fall in love with her character in the first place. This isn't just another rubber duck - it's a tribute to one of gaming's most unforgettable protagonists, perfectly captured in adorable, displayable form.
The Survivor's Sculpt
Numskull Designs absolutely nailed the essence of Ellie with this TUBBZ. The sculpting work is phenomenal, capturing her iconic look from the game with remarkable attention to detail. Her signature ponytail flows naturally, and the determined expression on her duck face perfectly mirrors that fierce, won't-back-down attitude that defines Ellie's character. She's sporting her classic outfit, complete with her backpack, which any fan will instantly recognize from those countless hours spent exploring abandoned cities and evading infected.
The pose is quintessentially Ellie, ready for whatever the Cordyceps-ravaged world throws at her. What really stands out is how they've managed to translate her teenage toughness into duck form without losing any of the character's authenticity. The little details matter here - from the weathered look of her gear to the way her hands are positioned, everything screams survivor.
Paint and Presentation
The paint application on this TUBBZ is outstanding. The color palette stays true to the game's aesthetic with earthy tones and that slightly worn look that tells a story of survival. Her jacket features subtle shading that adds depth and realism, while her skin tone is perfectly matched. The eyes are particularly well done, capturing that mix of vulnerability and strength that makes Ellie such a compelling character.
The finish has a slight matte quality in the right places, giving it that authentic, lived-in feel rather than a glossy, toy-like appearance. This is a collectible that understands its source material. Every color choice, every shade variation, serves to remind you of those tense moments sneaking through abandoned buildings or those quieter character moments that made The Last of Us such an emotional journey.
Size and Display Presence
At standard TUBBZ size, Ellie stands proud at approximately 3.54 inches tall, making her the perfect desk companion or shelf centerpiece. She's got a solid weight to her that gives confidence when you pick her up - this isn't some flimsy knock-off. The base is stable, so she'll stand guard over your gaming setup or collection without any wobbling drama.
I tracked one of these down at a local game shop I rarely visit, and the moment I saw her on the shelf, I knew she was coming home with me. I've got her marked in the Collectiblz app now, and honestly, if you're building a gaming collection or a Last of Us shrine, you should definitely check out the app to track your own collection. It's been a game-changer for keeping tabs on which pieces I have and which ones I'm still hunting.
A Personal Survival Story
I'll never forget my first playthrough of The Last of Us. I was skeptical at first about all the hype, thinking it was just another zombie game. But within the first hour, I was completely hooked. That opening sequence still haunts me in the best way possible. The relationship between Joel and Ellie became something I genuinely cared about, and Ellie's evolution from a scared kid to a capable survivor was one of gaming's greatest character arcs.
When Ellie says "I'm just a girl. Not a threat" in that sarcastic tone, or when she delivers that powerful line "Endure and survive" - those moments stuck with me long after I put down the controller. This TUBBZ captures that spirit perfectly. It's a reminder of why The Last of Us resonated with so many people.
The Last of Us Collection
Ellie isn't alone in the TUBBZ Last of Us lineup. She pairs beautifully with the Tess TUBBZ for fans wanting to recreate that memorable partnership from the Boston section of the game. As more characters from this universe get the duck treatment, you can build out an entire post-apocalyptic display. Imagine having Joel, Ellie, and the rest of the crew standing together on your shelf - it's the kind of collection that sparks conversations and shows off your gaming credentials.
Perfect For Any Survivor
Whether you're a completionist hunting down every Last of Us collectible, a TUBBZ enthusiast expanding your gaming collection, or someone looking for the perfect gift for a Naughty Dog fan, this Ellie duck delivers on every front. She works as a standalone piece that celebrates an iconic character, but she also integrates seamlessly into broader collections.
For display purposes, she shines in gaming setups, positioned near your PlayStation or among your game cases. She's equally at home on a desk at work, serving as a subtle nod to your after-hours passion for quality storytelling and unforgettable games. The TUBBZ line has this amazing ability to be both whimsical and respectful of the source material, and this Ellie perfectly embodies that balance.
Endure and Collect
The Last of Us Ellie TUBBZ is more than just a rubber duck collectible - it's a celebration of one of gaming's most beloved characters. From the meticulous sculpting to the authentic paint work, every element works together to create something special. For fans of the franchise, this is an essential pickup. For TUBBZ collectors, it's another stellar addition to the gaming line. And for anyone who appreciates well-made collectibles that honor their source material, Ellie stands as proof that even rubber ducks can carry emotional weight.
In a world full of mediocre merchandise, this TUBBZ endures and survives as a shining example of how to do character collectibles right. Ellie would approve - and so will your collection.
