LEGO Fast and Furious Toyota Supra MK4 (42204): Turbo-Charged Engineering

LEGO Fast and Furious Toyota Supra MK4 (42204): Turbo-Charged Engineering

Fast and Furious Meets LEGO Technic

If you've ever wanted to build something that screams cinematic cool and engineering brilliance, the LEGO Fast and Furious Toyota Supra MK4 might be exactly what you're looking for. This isn't just a race car set - it's 810 pieces of automotive passion paired with smart Technic ingenuity.

The Build Experience

The Technic line excels at capturing the real mechanics under the hood, and this Supra is no exception. You're getting a functioning 6-cylinder engine with moving pistons, a working differential, and steering that actually responds. The build teaches you genuine engineering principles: how engines breathe, how suspensions absorb impact, how steering linkages translate hand motion into wheel rotation. It's the kind of set that makes you understand the car, not just assemble one.

One of my favorite touches: the removable Targa top. That open-roof detail adds playability and display flexibility. And yes, those twin NOS bottles in the trunk are a cheeky nod to the franchise's iconic boost scenes.

What's In The Box

At 810 pieces, this is a solidly sized Technic set - substantial enough to feel rewarding, approachable for builders aged 9 and up. The finished model sits about 8 inches tall and stretches 11.5 inches long, making it a centerpiece display piece without dominating an entire shelf. Color-wise, the metallic gray bodywork pops against the translucent red windshield and those orange-accented wheels.

What I love most about Technic cars is watching a 2JZ engine come alive in your hands - the smooth rotation of the pistons, the satisfying click of each functional part engaging as you adjust the transmission or steering. This set nails that tactile reward.

Collector Notes

If you're a Fast and Furious fan, this is the set that validates building. It's not a minifigure-focused set, so you're here for the engineering and the automotive design. Display-wise, a clear shelf or Detolf cabinet keeps the gray bodywork looking sharp under good lighting.

The price-per-part is solid for a Technic car at this complexity level. Building it once is the core joy, though if you're into alternative builds (and Rebrickable always has options for Technic), you could deconstruct and rebuild it into something entirely different - maybe a rally machine or a custom lowrider.

I've got this on my needs list in the Collectiblz app, and it's sitting pretty high. There's something about building a car you recognize from the screen that just hits different.
