Shrek Princess Fiona TUBBZ Review - The Fairytale Princess Duck
Happily Ever Quacker, Swamp Dwellers! 🦆✨
What do you get when you cross an enchanted princess, a classic fairytale twist, and the beloved world of rubber duckies? The absolutely stunning Princess Fiona TUBBZ from the Shrek Movie & TV collection. This isn't just any fairytale duck - it's a celebration of one of DreamWorks' most beloved characters, perfectly capturing Fiona's grace, courage, and that unmistakable Shrek charm that made us all fall in love with the franchise.
As someone who watched the first Shrek movie during its theatrical run back in 2001, I remember being absolutely floored by how different it was from every other animated fairytale. Fiona wasn't your typical damsel in distress - she could fight, she was funny, and she had secrets of her own. That moment when she reveals her true ogre form and chooses love over convention? Pure cinema magic. Fast forward to today, and seeing Fiona immortalized as a TUBBZ collectible brings all those nostalgic feels rushing back. As Fiona herself says, "I'm not that easy. I'm a princess, and I'm not leaving this tower to go off with some ogre." Well, this princess duck isn't going anywhere either - straight to my collection she goes!
Sculpt Details: Royal Perfection Meets Duck Charm
The sculptwork on this Princess Fiona TUBBZ is absolutely delightful. The design captures Fiona in her human form, complete with her iconic medieval gown and flowing red hair. The attention to detail is impressive - from the delicate tiara perched atop her head to the elegant dress that flows down to meet her duck base. Her expression radiates that perfect blend of princess poise and the knowing smile of someone who can definitely handle herself in a fight.
What really stands out is how well the designers translated Fiona's character design into duck form. The proportions work beautifully, with her signature long red hair cascading down in sculpted waves. Her hands are positioned in a regal pose that feels both classic fairytale and distinctly Fiona. The way they've captured her facial features - those expressive eyes and confident smile - makes this duck instantly recognizable as the Princess of Far Far Away.
Paint Application and Colors: Far Far Away Fabulous
The paint work on this TUBBZ is vibrant and eye-catching. Fiona's iconic green gown is rendered in a rich, jewel-toned emerald that catches the light beautifully. The gold accents on her dress and crown add that royal touch, while her copper-red hair provides a stunning contrast that makes the whole piece pop. Her skin tone is warm and natural, and those bright eyes absolutely sparkle with personality.
The finish has a subtle matte quality that gives the piece a premium feel, while certain elements like the crown and dress details have just enough sheen to suggest metallic embellishments. The color separation is clean and precise - no bleeding between the green dress and gold trim, and the hair is perfectly defined against the face. It's clear that this TUBBZ was crafted with collector-grade attention to detail.
Physical Presence: Shelf Royalty
Like most standard TUBBZ releases, Princess Fiona measures approximately 3.5 inches tall, making her the perfect size for desktop display, shelf arrangement, or bathroom royalty. She has that satisfying heft that quality collectibles should have - substantial enough to feel premium but not so heavy that you worry about toppling. The duck base is stable and well-balanced, so she sits perfectly upright whether you display her solo or as part of your growing Shrek collection.
The presentation in the collector's box is top-notch, with clear window packaging that lets you admire Princess Fiona without removing her from the box. For mint-in-box collectors, the packaging is sturdy and features gorgeous Shrek-themed graphics that make this a display piece even when sealed.
The Shrek Collection: Building Your Swamp Squad
Princess Fiona is part of the broader Shrek TUBBZ collection, which includes other beloved characters from the franchise. While there are Mini TUBBZ versions of characters like Donkey, Lord Farquaad, and even a mini Princess Fiona, this standard-sized version gives you that premium collector experience with enhanced detail and presence. If you're building a complete Shrek display, you'll want to keep an eye out for Shrek himself, Puss in Boots, and the rest of the Far Far Away crew. Each character brings their own personality to duck form, and together they create an absolutely magical display that celebrates one of animation's most beloved franchises.
The beauty of collecting TUBBZ is that you can mix and match sizes - pair this full-sized Fiona with the mini versions for a fun scale variation, or go all-in on the standard-sized releases for a uniform look. Either way, your Shrek collection will be "ogre-whelming" in the best possible way.
Display Ideas: Where Your Princess Duck Belongs
This Princess Fiona TUBBZ deserves a place of honor in your collection. She's perfect perched on your desk as a daily dose of fairytale inspiration - imagine her sitting next to your monitor, reminding you that true beauty comes from within (and that you don't need rescuing, thank you very much). She's equally at home on a dedicated animation shelf, surrounded by other DreamWorks characters or fairytale-themed collectibles.
For the ultimate display, create a Far Far Away corner with all your Shrek TUBBZ together. Add some green moss or swamp-themed elements for atmosphere, or go full castle aesthetic with miniature towers and fantasy props. Gaming setup? Absolutely - Fiona would be right at home watching you play through fantasy RPGs or animated adventure games. And let's not forget the bathroom - after all, what better place for a rubber duck than where it all began?
