McDonald's Happy Meal POG 2019 - DC Super Hero Girls N°43 Collectible Disc

McDonald's Happy Meal POG 2019 - DC Super Hero Girls N°43 Collectible Disc

Welcome Back to the Golden Arches Collector Corner!

If you have been following along with the POG 2019 series, you already know this French McDonald's promotion is one of the most ambitious Happy Meal collectible sets I have ever tracked. Today we are looking at one of the numbered standouts from the DC Super Hero Girls theme - POG Happy Meal DC Super Hero Girls N°43, part of the massive 200-disc Warner Company collaboration that launched in France on September 4, 2019.

The Set at a Glance

This promotion is unlike anything McDonald's had done with small collectibles in years. The POG 2019 set is divided into four distinct themes, each running from number 1 to 50, for a grand total of 200 collectible discs. The themes are DC Super Hero Girls (numbered DCG1 to DCG50), DC Justice League characters including Superman, Batman, and the Joker, Looney Tunes favorites like Tweety, Sylvester, Taz, Road Runner, and Wile E. Coyote, and Scooby-Doo characters and scenes. Each theme has its own colored collector token - blue for DC Super Hero Girls, orange for Looney Tunes, and purple for Scooby-Doo.

The discs came packaged in themed pouches containing 10 POGs plus one token each, and separate sets of game rules were printed for every theme. This is a promotion clearly designed to encourage repeat visits and long-term collecting - exactly the kind of layered engagement that makes a wave like this so satisfying to hunt down piece by piece.

DC Super Hero Girls N°43 - Design and Format

The POG format itself is a flat, circular disc - compact, lightweight, and printed on both sides with artwork tied to the animated DC Super Hero Girls universe. The discs are made from a firm, smooth card stock with a glossy finish that holds up well with careful handling. The artwork on the DC Super Hero Girls discs captures the bold, clean animation style of the series - bright colors, confident character poses, and the instantly recognizable DC Comics visual language adapted for the younger-skewing show.

N°43 sits in the upper range of the DC Super Hero Girls numbering, placing it among the later discs in this sub-theme alongside other known entries like N°45, N°46, N°47, and N°49. Fellow DC Super Hero Girls discs from the lower numbers - including N°7 and N°9 - round out the full 50-disc run. Together, the complete DCG set spans the core cast of the animated series: Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Katana, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and more in various action poses, team shots, and close-up portraits.

There is something genuinely satisfying about a numbered POG set that commits to 50 entries per theme. Each disc represents a specific creative choice - a particular pose, a scene, a moment from the show. N°43 is not filler. It is a deliberate part of a hand-curated gallery, and that is exactly what makes the complete run worth chasing.

Wave and Set Context

Completing the full DC Super Hero Girls sub-series means tracking down all 50 discs, and the wider POG 2019 set means 200 in total if you want the full picture. The three other themes - DC Justice League, Looney Tunes, and Scooby-Doo - each offer an equally rich run of 50 numbered discs. For collectors who want the complete set experience, the real pursuit is building out each individual theme run and filling in the gaps. The DCG theme carries its own blue-tinted collector token, which serves as a visual anchor for the full theme group when displayed together.

Collector Notes

Play value here is directly tied to the original POG game format - these are stackable, slammable, and genuinely fun to use as intended. For display purposes, POG discs are best appreciated when organized by theme and number in a binder sleeve or flat display case, where the full visual progression of the DCG series becomes visible at once. A complete numbered run from DCG1 through DCG50, all in sequence, makes for a striking collection wall or shelf display.

Long-term shelf appeal is strong for this set. The DC Super Hero Girls animated series has a dedicated collector following, and the connection to the original Warner Company POG revival format adds retro charm for adult collectors who grew up with POGs in the 1990s. Condition is worth monitoring closely - the glossy print surfaces can scratch with heavy contact, so soft sleeves are the best storage option for individual discs you want to keep near-mint.

For parents, this is a low-physical-footprint collectible - the entire 200-disc set takes up remarkably little space compared to a wave of plastic figures. For collectors, the numbering system makes tracking progress easy and the appeal of completing a theme run is real and immediate.

Display and Storage Ideas

The flat circular format of POG discs makes them ideal for binder sleeves designed for trading cards or coins - most standard card sleeve pages will hold multiple discs per pocket. Grouping by theme with a colored divider tab for each of the four themes keeps the collection organized and visually clean. If you have picked up multiple themes, displaying all four color-coded tokens together alongside the full sets creates a clear and appealing reference display that shows the full scope of the POG 2019 collaboration.

I have N°43 on my need list in the Collectiblz app right now - there are a few gaps in my DCG run that I am still working to fill in, and this is one of them. If you are tracking your own POG 2019 collection, the app makes it easy to see exactly which numbers you still need and which are already checked off.
