If you grew up flipping POGs on the playground and still have a soft spot for anything Looney Tunes, then the McDonald's Happy Meal POG 2019 wave is going to hit you right in the nostalgia. Today I'm spotlighting Looney Tunes 2 - a collectible spinning disc from the massive POG 2019 assortment distributed primarily through European McDonald's locations, featuring Warner Bros.' most iconic animated characters in flat disc form. This wave was a brilliant throwback concept: take the classic POG format and load it with beloved characters, and suddenly every Happy Meal becomes a tiny collector's hunt.

The Toy Up Close: Design and Physical Details

The Looney Tunes 2 disc follows the standard POG 2019 format - a circular, rigid plastic spinning top design with a flat graphic face. The plastic feels solid and well-made for a Kids' Meal premium, with the kind of tactile heft that satisfies a little more than a thin cardboard POG from years past. The graphic printing is crisp and vivid, with the bold color palette that classic Looney Tunes artwork is known for. The spinning top base is molded into the bottom of the disc, allowing kids to launch and spin it - though the collector instinct to just display it is equally strong.

Scale-wise, these discs fall comfortably in the palm of your hand. They're compact enough for small hands to grip and spin, but large enough that the artwork reads clearly from a few feet away on a shelf. The molded color on the spinner base is clean and consistent, with no flashing or rough edges noted on production samples. Looney Tunes 2 sits comfortably in the middle of this lineup as a core character showcase disc. It doesn't feel like a filler piece - the Looney Tunes subset as a whole was clearly a priority within the wave, with enough variety across poses and pairings to make set completion genuinely rewarding. For collectors targeting only the Warner Bros. characters, the Looney Tunes pieces represent some of the strongest artwork in the entire POG 2019 run.

The broader wave also includes DC Super Hero Girls discs (numbered extensively), Scooby-Doo discs in various poses and scenarios, original characters like Sammy, Vera, and Kini, and thematic discs like Pirate Attack and Snowboards. The sheer scale of the assortment - stretching across multiple character universes - makes it one of the most ambitious European McDonald's promo sets of the period.

The POG format was a genius revival move. A spinning disc is interactive enough to satisfy the play-value requirement, collectible enough to satisfy the adult collector instinct, and flat enough to store without taking over a shelf. The Looney Tunes subset of the 2019 wave got the character selection exactly right - familiar faces, expressive poses, and enough variation to make completing the set feel genuinely earned.
