Rick & Morty Boxed TUBBZ Morty Review - Aw Geez, The Anxious Sidekick Takes Premium Duck Form
Wubba Lubba Duck Duck! Welcome Back, Dimension-Hopping Collectors
Alright, alright, alright. So we've got Rick in his Boxed TUBBZ glory, and you know what that means - Morty couldn't be far behind. The Rick & Morty Boxed TUBBZ Morty (SKU NS5795) brings everyone's favorite nervous grandson to the premium duck game, and let me tell you, this one hits different. If you're building out your Rick and Morty shelf setup, Morty here is absolutely essential. He's the yin to Rick's yang, the anxious energy to balance out the chaotic genius.
I still remember my first real binge of Rick and Morty back in college. A buddy of mine wouldn't shut up about it - "You gotta watch it, T.D., it's incredible!" - and I figured, sure, I'll give it a shot. Three seasons later, at 4 AM on a Tuesday, I was emotionally destroyed by interdimensional cable and existential dread. Good times. Morty's character arc across the show is genuinely compelling, watching him go from terrified kid to someone who occasionally matches Rick's energy. As Morty himself would say, "Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody's gonna die. Come watch TV."
The Sculpt - Peak Morty Energy in Duck Form
This Boxed TUBBZ captures Morty at his most Morty. The sculpt nails his signature yellow t-shirt and blue jeans combo - the outfit that's been through countless dimensions, alien encounters, and traumatic adventures. His pose has that classic Morty nervousness to it, hands positioned in a way that suggests he's either explaining something or processing yet another horrifying reality. The duck bill integration works surprisingly well with Morty's already anxious facial expression.
The details on this one are spot-on. They've captured Morty's messy brown hair with good texture and volume. His eyes have that wide, slightly panicked look that Morty fans know and love. Even the proportions feel right - Morty's always been the smaller, younger counterpart to Rick, and the duck form maintains that energy. This isn't just a duck wearing Morty's clothes - it genuinely feels like Morty himself has been duck-ified by some portal gun mishap.
The Paint - Dimension C-137 Colors
The paint application on this Boxed TUBBZ is clean and vibrant. That yellow shirt pops with a bright, saturated finish that matches the show's animation style. The blue jeans have good depth - not just flat blue, but with subtle shading that gives them dimension. His sneakers are properly detailed with white and grey tones that look accurate to Morty's usual footwear.
The skin tone is that perfect peachy-beige that matches the show's style, and the facial details are impressively crisp. His eyes have clean linework, and there's good contrast between the whites and pupils. The hair has nice gradient work - darker browns in the recesses, lighter tones on the raised areas. Everything feels deliberately placed rather than rushed. The overall finish has a slight sheen that works well with the premium Boxed TUBBZ presentation.
Display Presence - The Reluctant Adventurer
At standard Tubbz size, Morty has that perfect desk companion energy. He's substantial enough to make a statement but not so large that he dominates your space. The Boxed TUBBZ edition comes with premium window packaging that shows off the sculpt beautifully - perfect if you're a mint-in-box collector. The box design features Rick and Morty branding that looks clean and professional.
Out of the box, Morty stands steady with good balance. No wobble, no tipping - he's ready to hold down your desk while you're off doing whatever it is you do. The pose works from multiple angles, so whether he's front and center or part of a larger display, he looks good. The details read well from across a room, and up close you really appreciate the sculpt quality.
A Personal Morty Moment
I tracked this one down at a local comic shop that had just gotten their Tubbz shipment in. The owner knows I'm deep into this duck collecting thing, so he texted me a photo of their new stock. When I saw they had both Rick and Morty from the Boxed line, I made the drive that same day. You can't have Rick without Morty - that's just wrong. The duo belongs together, whether they're arguing about the meaning of existence or running from alien authorities.
I've got mine marked in the Collectiblz app, sitting proudly next to Rick on my media shelf. Having them both together just feels right, you know? If you're tracking your Rick and Morty collection, the app makes it super easy to catalog what you have and what you're still hunting for. Trust me, once you start down the Tubbz rabbit hole, you'll want to keep track of your haul.
Collector Notes - The Anxious Grandson
The Rick & Morty Boxed TUBBZ line is still expanding, so Morty here is part of an ongoing collection opportunity. We've already got Rick and Morty in the Boxed editions, plus there are Mini TUBBZ versions of various characters floating around. For completionists, this is both exciting and potentially wallet-threatening. The good news is that Rick and Morty's massive fanbase means these pieces have solid collector value.
Morty pairs perfectly with the Rick & Morty Rick Sanchez Boxed TUBBZ (NS5794). Displayed together, they capture that essential dynamic that makes the show work. You could also mix in other sci-fi Tubbz from your collection - Morty would feel at home next to Star Trek or Doctor Who ducks, given all the interdimensional shenanigans he's been through. The Boxed edition makes this a premium display piece rather than just a fun novelty.
Watch for other Rick and Morty characters to potentially join the Boxed TUBBZ line. Summer, Beth, Jerry, Mr. Meeseeks - there's a whole roster of possibilities. Early adoption of the main characters like Morty tends to be smart for collectors who want to build complete sets.
"Aw geez, Rick, I don't know if turning into a duck was such a good idea, Rick!"
Why This Tubbz Matters
The Rick & Morty Boxed TUBBZ Morty works because it captures what makes Morty such an endearing character - that nervous energy, that reluctant hero vibe, that everyday kid thrown into extraordinary situations. Whether you're a die-hard Rick and Morty fan who owns every piece of merch, or someone who just appreciates quality collectibles, this duck delivers.
For Rick and Morty collectors, Morty completes the essential duo. For Tubbz collectors, he's a solid addition to the pop culture roster. For desk decorators, he's a conversation starter that'll make people smile. Display him next to Rick for maximum effect, or let him represent your own anxious energy as you navigate daily life.
The sculpt quality, paint accuracy, and premium packaging make this Boxed edition feel special. This isn't just another mass-market collectible - it's a thoughtfully designed piece that respects both the Tubbz brand and the Rick and Morty source material. Morty has survived countless interdimensional adventures, and now he's ready to survive proudly on your shelf.
Whether you're building a complete Rick and Morty collection or just want one perfectly anxious duck to brighten your space, the Rick & Morty Boxed TUBBZ Morty is an aw-geez-tastic addition. Just try to keep him away from any portal guns, okay? We don't need any more traumatic adventure scenarios.
