2025 Topps Chrome Disney #5b Sulley VARVAR: Monsters University Sully wearing OK (Oozma Kappa) shirt - Base Set Transformation Magic
Hey there, fellow Disney card collectors! 💙
I hope you're all having a magical day! I am absolutely thrilled to share one of my new favorite Topps Chrome Disney finds with you all. If you love Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University as much as I do, then you are going to flip for this beauty. Today I'm gushing over the 2025 Topps Chrome Disney #5b Sulley VARVAR: Monsters University Sully wearing OK (Oozma Kappa) shirt card from the Base Set, and let me tell you, this card is pure college monster magic!
The Big Blue Legend in Chrome Perfection
First things first, can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous Sulley looks on this card? The 2025 Topps Chrome Disney treatment gives our favorite furry blue monster that signature Chrome shimmer and shine. But what makes this card extra special is that it's a VARVAR, which means we get a totally different look at everyone's favorite Scarer turned Laugh Collector.
Instead of the classic Monsters, Inc. Sulley we all know and love, this card shows Sulley during his college days at Monsters University, rocking his Oozma Kappa shirt. That green OK logo stands out beautifully against his bright blue fur, and the Chrome finish makes every detail pop. You can practically see the determination in his eyes as he learns what it really means to be scary alongside his fellow OK brothers.
Monsters University Memories
Every time I look at this card, I'm transported right back to watching Monsters University. I remember sitting in the theater with my niece, both of us rooting for the underdogs of Oozma Kappa. That movie taught us that it's not about being the biggest or the scariest, it's about heart, teamwork, and believing in yourself and your friends.
When you believe in your team and work together, anything is possible, even winning the Scare Games.
The Oozma Kappa crew had me laughing and crying, and seeing Sulley in his OK pride on this Chrome card brings back all those wonderful feelings. Plus, the VARVAR designation means this is a variant collectors dream, showing a completely different side of Sulley's story.
Chrome Magic and Collector Appeal
The 2025 Topps Chrome Disney Base Set has been absolutely stunning this year, and the VARVAR cards add another layer of collecting excitement. This Sulley #5b variant is perfect for Monsters University fans, Sulley collectors, character collectors, and anyone building the full Chrome Disney set with all its variants.
The Chrome technology on these cards is simply breathtaking. The way the light catches Sulley's fur, the shimmer on that OK logo, and the overall depth of the image make this card feel like a premium collectible. It's definitely a step up from standard base cards, and the VARVAR variants are becoming highly sought after in the Disney card community.
A Disney Parks Connection
Speaking of Monsters University, I have to share a quick Disney Parks memory. Last year at Walt Disney World, I rode Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at the Magic Kingdom, and they actually referenced Oozma Kappa during one of the jokes! The whole theater cracked up, and I remember thinking how much I love that Disney keeps these little details alive across their parks and properties. This card reminds me of that magical moment every time I see it.
Display and Collection Ideas
I've got this beauty sleeved in a premium card sleeve and displayed in my Monsters themed binder section. It looks absolutely perfect next to my regular #5 Sulley base card, showing the transformation from college monster to professional Scarer. If you're a serious collector, you might want to consider grading this VARVAR for long term value, as variants like this tend to hold and increase in value over time.
Some collectors are building complete VARVAR sets, pairing each character's different versions together in side by side displays. Others are creating character specific collections with every version of Sulley from across all Topps Disney releases. However you choose to collect, this #5b VARVAR is an absolute must have.
My Collection Status
I actually snagged this card in a recent pack break and couldn't believe my luck! As soon as I pulled it, I immediately marked it as HAVE in my Collectiblz app. If you haven't tried the Collectiblz app yet, you absolutely should, it makes tracking your collection so much easier, especially when you're hunting down specific VARVARs like this Sulley. You can mark what you have, what you need, and watch your completion percentage grow. It's honestly become one of my favorite collecting tools!
Final Thoughts
The 2025 Topps Chrome Disney #5b Sulley VARVAR: Monsters University Sully wearing OK (Oozma Kappa) shirt card is everything a Disney collector could want. Gorgeous Chrome finish, beloved character, meaningful variant, and pure nostalgic magic all wrapped up in one stunning card. Whether you're building the complete Base Set, collecting all the VARVARs, or just love Sulley and the Monsters University story, this card deserves a spot in your collection.
The OK crew would be proud to have you represent! Go Oozma Kappa! 💚
Happy collecting, everyone!
