2025 Topps Disney Wonder #117 The Doorknob - Base Set Wonderland Magic
Hello, Wonderland Wanderers and Disney Card Collectors!
Have you ever wished you could shrink down and slip through a magical keyhole into a world of pure imagination? Well, grab your bottle labeled "Drink Me" because today we're celebrating one of the most charming (and chatty!) characters from Alice in Wonderland - The Doorknob! The 2025 Topps Disney Wonder #117 The Doorknob base set card has just unlocked its way into my collection, and I absolutely had to share the wonder with all of you.
This card is part of the spectacular 2025 Topps Disney Wonder base set, and let me tell you, it's giving me all the nostalgic feels. The Doorknob might seem like a minor character, but anyone who's watched Alice in Wonderland knows he's the friendly face (quite literally!) who guides Alice on her journey. He's sleepy, he's sweet, and he's surprisingly helpful for a piece of talking hardware. This card captures that drowsy charm perfectly, with beautiful artwork that brings this beloved character to life.
The design showcases The Doorknob in all his brass-and-kindness glory. You can practically hear his yawning voice telling Alice about the bottle that will help her shrink. The colors are soft and dreamy, just like the whimsical world of Wonderland itself. The Topps Disney Wonder line has this incredible way of honoring even the smaller characters from Disney's animated classics, and The Doorknob is no exception. It's cards like these that remind us every character, no matter how brief their screen time, adds magic to the story.
Through every keyhole lies a world of wonder waiting to be discovered - you just need the courage to turn the knob.
I actually marked this one as "Have" in my Collectiblz app the moment I pulled it from a pack last weekend! I was sorting through my latest Disney Wonder haul after a wonderful afternoon at Disneyland (where I may or may not have ridden Alice in Wonderland's dark ride three times in a row), and there he was - card #117, The Doorknob, smiling up at me. It felt like fate. If you're building your Disney Wonder base set, I highly recommend using the Collectiblz app to track your progress. It makes set building so much easier, and you can see exactly which cards you still need to complete your collection.
Why Collectors Love The Doorknob Card
For Disney collectors, this card represents something special. It's not just about the main characters or the princesses - it's about celebrating every magical moment from these classic films. The Doorknob appears in one of the most memorable scenes from Alice in Wonderland, teaching Alice (and all of us) an important lesson about perspective and finding creative solutions to impossible problems. This base set card honors that legacy beautifully.
The 2025 Topps Disney Wonder base set is perfect for collectors who appreciate the depth of Disney's animated catalog. Whether you're a vintage animation fan, an Alice in Wonderland devotee, or someone building the complete Wonder set, card #117 is a must-have. It's also a great conversation starter - not everyone thinks to collect the supporting characters, but those are often the ones that bring the most joy to a collection.
Display Ideas and Collection Tips
I've got my Doorknob card tucked into a nine-pocket page in my Alice in Wonderland themed binder, right alongside the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts. It looks absolutely perfect there, creating a little Wonderland scene on the page. If you're a top loader person, The Doorknob would look stunning displayed next to your other base set cards from the Wonder collection. Some collectors even frame their favorite base cards in shadow boxes with themed backgrounds - imagine The Doorknob displayed against a vintage key and keyhole backdrop!
For those of you who love thematic collecting, consider pairing your Disney Wonder cards with vintage Alice in Wonderland merchandise, pressed pennies from the Disneyland Alice dark ride, or even photos from your park visits. I keep my Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom spell cards nearby too, creating a whole Disney magic corner in my collecting space. It makes every card feel even more special when it's surrounded by related treasures.
Building Your Disney Wonder Base Set
If you're working on completing the entire 2025 Topps Disney Wonder base set, The Doorknob is one of those satisfying pulls that fills in another spot in your checklist. The base set includes characters from across Disney's animated history, from the earliest classics to more recent favorites. Each card is a little piece of Disney magic, and watching your collection grow is incredibly rewarding. Don't forget to mark each one in your Collectiblz app - there's something so satisfying about seeing that completion percentage climb!
Whether you pulled The Doorknob from a retail pack, a hobby box, or traded for it with a fellow collector, this card deserves a special spot in your collection. It's a reminder that in the world of Disney, even a doorknob can be the key to adventure, friendship, and wonder.
Happy collecting, and may all your Wonderland dreams come true!
