2025 Topps Disney Wonder #140 Bucky the Squirrel - Base Set Forest Friend Magic
Hey fellow Disney collectors, it's Tilly!
Alright friends, gather around because we need to talk about one of the most underrated little critters in all of Disney animation! I'm absolutely delighted to share the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder #140 Bucky the Squirrel base set card with you today. If you're an Emperor's New Groove fan like me, you already know that this little forest friend plays one of the most memorable small roles in the entire film.
A Squirrel with Personality
For those who need a refresher, Bucky is the adorable squirrel who appears when Kuzco, transformed into a llama, tries to speak to him in the forest. The confusion and chaos that follows is peak Disney comedy gold, and this card captures Bucky's wide-eyed woodland charm perfectly. The 2025 Topps Disney Wonder line continues to prove that every character deserves their moment to shine, and Bucky is no exception.
The base set treatment is clean and classic. Bucky's design pops beautifully against the card's layout, showcasing those signature big eyes and fluffy tail that make squirrels so darn cute. The Topps Disney Wonder branding adds that modern polish while keeping the nostalgic Disney animation feel we all adore. It's a base card, yes, but it's also a celebration of one of those "blink and you'll miss it" characters that make The Emperor's New Groove so rewatchable.
"In the forest or in your collection, every creature has a story worth telling."
Why This Card Hits Different
I still remember watching The Emperor's New Groove on VHS at sleepovers, rewinding that squirrel scene over and over because it made us laugh so hard. Years later, when I discovered Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom spell cards at Walt Disney World, I realized that even the smallest Disney characters can become collector treasures. That's exactly what's happening here with Bucky.
The 2025 Topps Disney Wonder set is remarkable for its inclusiveness. It's not just about the main heroes and villains; it's about celebrating the entire tapestry of Disney storytelling. Cards like #140 remind us that Disney magic lives in every frame, every background character, and every comedic beat. Bucky may have only a few seconds of screen time, but those seconds are unforgettable.
Collector Appeal and Display Ideas
As a base set card, #140 Bucky the Squirrel is accessible to all collectors, whether you're building the full Wonder checklist or focusing on Emperor's New Groove characters specifically. It pairs beautifully with the Emperor Kuzco, Pacha, Yzma, and Kronk cards from the same set, creating a complete New Groove section in your binder.
For display, I love using nine-pocket pages for base cards. Bucky sits perfectly alongside other animal sidekicks from Disney Wonder. Imagine a spread with Bucky, Ray the firefly, Heihei, and Rajah - talk about a critter crew! You could also theme a page around forest animals or comic relief characters. The possibilities are as endless as Kuzco's ego before his character development.
If you're a grader, this base card in gem mint could be a fun addition to a niche Emperor's New Groove graded collection. While it's not a chase card or parallel, there's something special about preserving these lesser-known character cards in top condition. Future collectors will appreciate that you saw the value in Bucky when others overlooked him.
Finding Your Squirrel Friend
I was lucky enough to snag this one from a hobby box break during release week. When I pulled Bucky, I genuinely cheered - my break-mates probably thought I was nuts, but true Disney collectors get it. I've got him marked as "HAVE" in my Collectiblz app, and honestly, tracking down every character in the Wonder base set has been such a joy. If you haven't tried the app yet, it's a game-changer for managing checklists and seeing your completion progress in real time. There's something so satisfying about marking cards as you collect them.
Whether you're hunting Bucky in retail packs, hobby boxes, or singles from your local card shop, he's worth adding to your Disney collection. At base set pricing, there's no reason not to embrace the squirrel love. Plus, every time you see this card, you'll smile remembering that hilarious forest scene.
Happy collecting, and may your pulls be as delightful as a conversation between a llama and a squirrel!
💚 Tilly
