LEGO Advent Calendar - 24 Mini Activity Books of Brick-Built Holiday Fun
Hey, builder friends!
What if I told you there's an advent calendar that doesn't just count down to the holidays - it actively builds up your creativity every single day? The LEGO® Advent Calendar featuring 24 mini activity books (set 5007710) is here, and it's unlike any December countdown you've experienced before. Instead of tiny builds or chocolate (though those are great too), this one delivers 24 days of hands-on challenges, puzzles, and creative prompts designed to keep your brain buzzing and your fingers building.
This isn't your typical minifig-a-day advent experience. It's a daily dose of LEGO inspiration, perfect for kids, teens, and even AFOLs who want a bite-sized creative challenge with their morning coffee. Each mini activity book is its own self-contained adventure-think mini building challenges, design puzzles, trivia, drawing prompts, and brick-based brain teasers. It's like opening a new LEGO magazine every day, but pocket-sized and holiday-themed.
What's Inside the Box?
At $24.99, this calendar delivers serious value for anyone who loves LEGO beyond just the builds. You're getting 24 individual mini activity books, each one thoughtfully designed to spark a different kind of creativity. Some days might challenge you to sketch your dream MOC. Others might ask you to solve a brick-based riddle or identify classic LEGO themes from silhouettes. A few might even include stickers, cutouts, or mini-poster inserts.
The real genius here is the variety. From my design school days, I learned that constraint breeds creativity-and these bite-sized prompts do exactly that. You're not staring at an intimidating blank page or a giant bin of bricks. You're given a focused, fun challenge that you can knock out in 5-15 minutes, whether you're waiting for the school bus or winding down before bed.
The packaging itself is festive and compact, designed to fit on a shelf or nightstand without taking up the real estate of a traditional advent calendar. And because there are no physical builds to assemble (just paper activities), there's zero cleanup-a win for parents and tidy builders alike.
This is the advent calendar for the LEGO fan who loves the idea of building as much as the building itself.
Collector Notes & Who This Is For
This set is perfect for LEGO-loving families who want a screen-free countdown activity that doesn't require parts storage or step-by-step instructions. It's also a fantastic stocking stuffer or add-on gift for kids aged 6 and up who already have plenty of sets but could use some creative fuel. Teachers and workshop leaders might find these activity books useful as quick warm-up exercises or rainy-day fillers.
If you're a collector of LEGO seasonal items, this one's a bit of a wildcard. It won't give you exclusive minifigs or rare prints, but it does offer something unique: a paper-based LEGO experience that's more about engagement than acquisition. It's the kind of thing that might not skyrocket in value on BrickLink, but it'll definitely create memories-and for a lot of us, that's the real treasure.
From a display perspective, once December's over, you could easily bind the 24 booklets together into a keepsake journal or use individual pages as creative inspiration for future MOCs. I'm already thinking about how some of those design prompts could translate into actual builds for my next workshop session with the kids at the library.
Final Thoughts
The LEGO Advent Calendar with 24 mini activity books is a refreshingly different take on the holiday countdown. It swaps out the usual plastic surprises for something more cerebral and creative, making it ideal for families who want a daily dose of LEGO magic without the commitment of building (and storing) 24 tiny models. At under $25, it's an affordable way to keep the holiday spirit-and the builder's mindset-alive all month long.
Whether you're solving puzzles, sketching dream sets, or just enjoying a few quiet minutes with a LEGO-themed challenge, this calendar delivers joy in a totally unique way. And honestly? Sometimes the best builds are the ones that happen in your imagination first.
