Vegas Born, Desert Tough - Meet Chance on Official NHL Rubber
Welcome to the collection, Golden Knights fans! If you bleed gold and gray and love everything about Las Vegas's magnificent hockey experiment, then this Vegas Golden Knights Mascot Hockey Puck from Mustang Drinkware is going to feel right at home in your display case. Featuring the one and only Chance - the franchise's beloved Golden Gila Monster - this puck captures one of the NHL's most unique and beloved mascot personalities on official NHL rubber. 🏒
Chance: The Mascot That Made Vegas Hockey Its Own
When the Vegas Golden Knights were announced as an expansion franchise for the 2017-18 season, everyone knew this was going to be something different. Las Vegas was taking a chance on professional hockey in the desert, and the franchise leaned all the way into that spirit by naming their mascot Chance - a Golden Gila Monster. It was a bold, creative choice that perfectly captured the Vegas mentality: unique, daring, and absolutely unforgettable.
The Gila monster was selected because it's native to the Mojave Desert region, giving the mascot genuine local roots. Unlike the generic mascot choices you see from other franchises, Chance is an authentically Vegas creation. Since making his debut at T-Mobile Arena on October 13, 2017 - during only the team's second-ever home game - Chance has become a fan favorite, particularly with younger fans and families. He brings energy, humor, and a whole lot of golden spirit to every game night.
And what a franchise story Chance has been part of. The Golden Knights went to the Stanley Cup Final in their very first season - an absolutely unprecedented feat in modern NHL history. They built a passionate fan base from scratch, played in T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip, and in 2023 capped it all off by winning their first Stanley Cup championship in just their sixth season. Jonathan Marchessault took home the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the city of Las Vegas erupted in celebration. This puck carries a little of that magic with it.
What Makes This Puck a Must-Have
Manufactured by Mustang Drinkware, this is an officially licensed NHL souvenir puck made to the standard six-ounce NHL specification - three inches in diameter, one inch thick. The distinctive graphics feature Chance prominently, rendered in the team's signature gold, gray, and black color palette. The quality print work wraps cleanly around the vulcanized rubber, giving collectors a sharp, vibrant image that holds up well over time.
This is a souvenir puck, not a game-used piece, which actually makes it ideal for display. Game-used pucks pick up ice marks, stick tape residue, and scuffs that tell a story but can also obscure the logos. A souvenir puck like this one arrives in pristine condition with the graphics exactly as intended - crisp and collector-ready right out of the packaging.
A mascot puck is one of the most accessible entry points in hockey collecting. You don't need to spend hundreds chasing authenticated game-used rubber - a beautiful souvenir puck featuring Chance tells the Golden Knights story just as powerfully, and it looks incredible on a shelf. 🥅
Collector Notes - Scarcity and Condition Tips
Mustang Drinkware produces officially licensed NHL collectibles and while their pucks are not extremely limited-run items, mascot variants like this one have a dedicated collector base. Golden Knights fans are passionate and collect hard, so Chance-themed items tend to move steadily. If you see this one available, it is worth grabbing rather than waiting.
Condition matters even with souvenir pucks. Keep your puck away from direct sunlight, which can fade the printed graphics over time. Store it in a cool, dry environment. Fingerprints and oils from handling can also dull the surface finish, so consider using cotton gloves when displaying or repositioning your puck.
Display Ideas for Your Golden Knights Collection
This Chance mascot puck looks fantastic in a few different display setups. A simple acrylic hockey puck cube is the classic choice - it elevates the puck, keeps it dust-free, and lets you appreciate all angles of the graphics. For a more dramatic presentation, combine it with a signed Golden Knights jersey or photo in a shadow box. The gold and gray colorway pairs beautifully with framed game photos from the 2023 Stanley Cup run. ⭐
If you are building a dedicated Golden Knights shelf, a mascot puck alongside a Chance bobblehead or plush, a championship puck, and a piece of authenticated memorabilia from the Cup run makes for a stunning, cohesive display. The mascot puck grounds the collection with personality and gives it an approachable, fan-forward feel.
Whether you are a lifelong Golden Knights supporter or just discovering the joy of hockey puck collecting, the Vegas Golden Knights Mascot Hockey Puck by Mustang Drinkware is a fantastic addition. Chance and the Golden Knights represent everything bold and exciting about modern NHL hockey - and now you can have a piece of that right on your shelf. 🎯
