The 2018 Shopkins Apple Blossom PEZ Dispenser Is the Sweetest Grocery-Themed Collectible in the Set
Welcome to the candy counter, friends! If you have a soft spot for cute character dispensers that capture a perfect little moment in pop culture - the kind that make you smile every single time you spot them on a shelf - then the 2018 Shopkins PEZ lineup is about to make your day.
Meet Apple Blossom - The Star of the Shopkins PEZ Set
The Shopkins Apple Blossom PEZ Dispenser is part of the officially released 2018 collaboration between PEZ Candy, Inc. and Moose Toys, the Australian company behind the massively popular Shopkins franchise. Shopkins are tiny, personality-packed grocery and household item characters that became a worldwide phenomenon with kids and collectors alike. Bringing them into PEZ form was a natural fit, and the results are genuinely delightful.
Apple Blossom is one of the most recognizable faces in all of Shopkins. She is a cheerful red and green apple character with rosy cheeks, wide expressive eyes, and a little leafy top - and the PEZ sculpt captures her signature look with solid character accuracy. The dispenser head sits on a standard-height PEZ stem, and the scale and proportions feel just right for the character. The paint applications are clean and bright, the kind of crisp coloring that makes this dispenser pop on a display shelf whether carded or loose.
The Full 2018 Shopkins PEZ Set
Apple Blossom did not arrive alone. The initial wave introduced three dispensers into the standard PEZ assortment: Apple Blossom, Kooky Cookie, and Strawberry Kiss. Later in November 2018, the line expanded with a giftable Twin Pack that introduced Cheeky Chocolate alongside Strawberry Kiss, complete with matching chocolate and strawberry PEZ candy refills. Rounding out the full set of five is Cupcake Queen, bringing the complete Shopkins PEZ roster to a satisfying five characters - each one representing a different grocery or sweet treat theme that the Shopkins brand is known for.
Kooky Cookie is a brown chocolate chip cookie character with an oversized smile and cross-hatched texture on the sculpt. Strawberry Kiss is a pink strawberry with a sweet face and a little leafy top that mirrors Apple Blossom's design. Cheeky Chocolate brings a wrapped chocolate bar character with heart detailing worked right into the surface - one of the standout sculpt moments across the whole set. Cupcake Queen finishes things off with a frosted cupcake design that slots perfectly into the food-themed cast.
What I love most about this set is how each character stays true to the Shopkins design language - round, expressive, and unmistakably sweet. Displaying all five together really lets you see the care that went into keeping them visually cohesive while still giving each character its own personality. It is a set that rewards completion.

- Availability: Released through standard retail assortment and online; the November 2018 Twin Pack paired Cheeky Chocolate with Strawberry Kiss and included candy refills

- Ideal For: PEZ collectors, Shopkins fans, character dispenser enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates a well-executed licensed collaboration
This is a set that rewards the effort of tracking down all five pieces. Apple Blossom is often the most recognized face of the lineup and the natural anchor for any display, but the real satisfaction is finding Cupcake Queen and Cheeky Chocolate to complete the group - those two tend to require a little more searching since they were not part of the initial standard assortment release.
Apple Blossom is sitting on my need list in the Collectiblz app right now, and honestly she has been there long enough - this is exactly the kind of retired licensed set I love hunting down to complete. If you are building out your PEZ collection, I really encourage you to use the Collectiblz app to keep your want list organized so you never lose track of what you still need to find.
Display Ideas
All five Shopkins dispensers displayed together make a charming themed grouping. A small tiered shelf or a dedicated candy-character section works beautifully, especially paired with other food-themed or licensed character PEZ dispensers. If you collect carded dispensers, the bright Shopkins card art ties the set together visually even before you open them. Loose on a shelf, they read as a fun, cohesive food character crew that is immediately recognizable to anyone familiar with the brand.
Whether you picked these up at release or are just now discovering this fun collaboration, the 2018 Shopkins PEZ set is a retired gem that is absolutely worth adding to any display.
