2025 Topps Disney Wonder Card #172 - Evil Queen Cartoon Villain

2025 Topps Disney Wonder Card #172 - Evil Queen Cartoon Villain

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall - This Card is the Fairest Pull of All! ✨

Hey there, fellow Disney card collectors! I hope your binders are full and your want lists are growing in the best possible way. Today I am absolutely gushing over one of the most iconic villains in Disney history, and she has landed in one of my newest favorite sets. Card number 172 from the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder set is none other than the Evil Queen herself - the original Disney villain, the original wicked stepmother, the one who set the gold standard for sinister royalty in animation. I am talking about the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and this card is stunning.

About 2025 Topps Disney Wonder

If you have not yet dipped your toes into the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder pool, let me tell you - this is a debut release that absolutely delivered on its promise. Topps Disney Wonder launched on October 15, 2025, and it features a gorgeous 190-card tiered base set spread across Tier 1, Tier 2, and the specialty Villain and Princess tiers. The entire set leans into a painterly, storybook illustration aesthetic that makes every single card feel like a page torn from a beloved fairy tale. It is whimsical, it is rich in color, and it perfectly captures the spirit of classic Disney animation in a way that I think is genuinely special for this hobby.

The set is packed with inserts to chase as well - Furry Friends, Castles Cottages and Casas, Tapestries, Greetings From, and the beautiful Cinderella 75th Anniversary insert. There are also Enchanted Autographs and hand-drawn Sketch Cards from over 80 artists. This set truly has something for every type of Disney collector.

Card #172 - Evil Queen, Cartoon Villain

Card 172 is part of the Base Cartoon Villain subset, and let me just say - this tier is one of the most exciting reasons to crack packs of Disney Wonder. The illustrated art style in this set is a perfect match for the Evil Queen's aesthetic. She is rendered here in all her chilling regal glory - that deep purple and black gown, the impossibly high white collar framing her face, the golden crown sitting atop her sleek dark hair. Her expression is cold and imperious, the look of a woman who has already decided she is the fairest and simply does not care for any second opinions. The storybook painting style gives the art a soft richness, like you are looking at an illuminated page from an old fairy tale manuscript. There is real drama in this card, and I love it so much.

The layout carries the gentle warmth of the Wonder design language - soft borders, elegant framing - while the Evil Queen herself commands every inch of the card face. She does not share space graciously. She owns it. Classic Evil Queen energy, and this card nails it completely.

Villains do not just add danger to a collection - they add depth. Every great Disney hero is defined by the shadow they stand against, and a set is not complete without the darkness that makes the magic shine brighter.

A Little Piece of My Collector Heart

I have had a complicated relationship with the Evil Queen ever since I was small. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was one of the first Disney films I ever watched, and I remember being genuinely frightened by her transformation scene - the way the beautiful queen melts away into that hunched, cackling old crone carrying a basket. But over the years, that fear transformed into fascination and then into pure collector love. She is the original. She started it all. And when I was playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, tracking down every villain spell card I could get my hands on, the Evil Queen cards were always among the most satisfying to find. Villains have always had a special place in my Disney collecting heart - they are underrated, they photograph beautifully, and the resale interest is strong.

The Full Cartoon Villain Checklist - Build the Dark Side

Card 172 is the first card in the Base Cartoon Villain subset, which runs 12 cards total in 2025 Topps Disney Wonder. If you are planning to build the full villain run - and I absolutely recommend it - here is every card you need to chase:

  • 172 - Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
  • 173 - Lady Tremaine (Cinderella)
  • 174 - Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
  • 175 - Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
  • 176 - Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
  • 177 - Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)
  • 178 - Jafar (Aladdin)
  • 179 - Governor Ratcliffe (Pocahontas)
  • 180 - Shan-Yu (Mulan)
  • 181 - Mother Gothel (Tangled)
  • 182 - Mor'Du (Brave)
  • 183 - King Magnifico (Wish)

That is an incredible lineup from across the Disney animated canon. Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, Mother Gothel - every major animated villain from the golden age through the modern era is represented here. If you are a villain collector, this is your subset.

Collector Notes - Rarity and Audience

The Cartoon Villain subset cards, including card 172, pull at 1:20 in Hobby boxes and 1:12 in Mega boxes - making them noticeably tougher than standard Tier 1 and Tier 2 base cards. They are genuinely satisfying hits when they land in a pack. The parallel structure is gorgeous: Gold Foil numbered to 50, Orange Foil to 25, Black Sparkle Foil to 10, Red Sparkle Foil to 5, and the incredible FoilFractor at 1 of 1. If you are a hit chaser, hunting a low-numbered Evil Queen parallel from this subset is a worthy goal. The /5 Red Sparkle in particular is going to be a trophy piece for any Disney villain collector who lands one.

For set builders, completing the Cartoon Villain tier is a meaningful milestone in a full Disney Wonder checklist. Character collectors focused on the Evil Queen will want to track down every parallel tier in this card - I know I already have mine marked as a Need in Collectiblz alongside her Tier 1 counterpart at card 5. For display at home, I keep my Cartoon Villain pulls sleeved in an Ultra Pro Toploader (Regular) with an Ultra Pro PRO-Matte Eclipse Card Sleeves inner sleeve - the matte finish keeps things clean and the card protected from moisture and edge wear without hiding any of that gorgeous painted artwork. If you are building the full 12-card villain run, an Ultra Pro 9-Pocket Pages insert inside a binder lets you display the complete set side by side, and that lineup looks absolutely magnificent.

Whether you are a set builder working toward the full 190-card Wonder base, a character collector chasing every Evil Queen card across every Topps Disney release, or a hit chaser hunting the Gold and Red Sparkle parallels, this card earns a place in your collection. The Evil Queen has been terrorizing Disney fans since 1937 and she has never looked more elegantly dangerous than she does right here on card 172.

Happy collecting, friends. Go get that poisoned apple - and by that I mean go find your Evil Queen card. You know she would want it that way. 💜
