Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card #31 - Mike's Grand Entrance: Monster Magic in the Moon Set!

One Eye, One Giant Entrance - And Mike Wazowski Has My Whole Heart!
Oh, collectors - do you ever hold a card and just burst out laughing with pure joy? That is exactly what happened the moment I picked up Card #31 from the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom set. Wide eye, unstoppable confidence, that unmistakable green glow of personality - Mike Wazowski has arrived, and he made quite the Grand Entrance indeed. Grab your binders and your best sleeves, because today we are celebrating one of Pixar's most charismatic characters in spell card form!
For anyone who has not yet discovered the magic of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom set, here is the quick story. This was an exclusive interactive card game played only at Walt Disney World, where guests received spell cards and used them at hidden interactive stations throughout Magic Kingdom to battle Disney villains and save the park. I played it myself over many happy visits, traded cards with other guests in the middle of Fantasyland, and still own my original collection - including some of the rarest villain cards I hunted down over multiple trips. Honestly, this game is the reason I fell in love with Disney collectible cards in the first place, and every time I add a new card to my collection it takes me right back to those magical rope-drop mornings.
Card #31 features Mike Wazowski from Pixar's Monsters, Inc. (2001) - the lovable, wisecracking, one-eyed monster who puts his whole heart into everything he does at Monsters, Incorporated. He is funny, loyal, expressive, and absolutely unforgettable, and his card in this set captures every bit of that big personality. The spell class is Monster, which could not be more fitting, and the weapon is Grand Entrance - truly the most Mike Wazowski spell name imaginable. He does not slip quietly into a room. He announces himself.
"You do not need two eyes to see the magic in a great spell card. Mike Wazowski walks in like he owns the place - and honestly, he kind of does."
The stat layout is satisfying for a Strong action card: Attack 3, Boost 2, and Shield 1 give Mike a solid, well-rounded profile. He is not the highest attacker in the set, but that Boost of 2 adds real strategic value, and a Shield of 1 means he brings some protection to the table as well. The Moon symbol places Card #31 in the Uncommon Crescent group, which covers Cards #23 through #40 of the full 70-card base set. That puts Mike right in the heart of the Moon group, and what wonderful company he keeps.
Fans of the Moon set will already know the cards that surround him - Aladdin's Lamp Warrior (#23), Bolt's Super Bark (#24), Cinderella's Magic Ribbon (#25), Colonel Hathi's Righteous Stomp (#26), Eeyore's Gloomy Cloud (#27), Frozone's Ice Blast (#28), Lightning McQueen's Ka-Chow (#29), and Mickey's Magic Beans (#30) are all in the same group. Card #31 slides in as the next piece of that Moon run, and I have already popped into Collectiblz to mark it as Have and watch my Moon set progress tick upward. That progress tracker is genuinely one of my favorite things.
From a collector perspective, Mike's Grand Entrance is a wonderful addition to several different collection styles. Set builders need this card to complete the full 70-card Sorcerers run - no skipping card #31! Character collectors who love Monsters, Inc. will want every Mike card they can find across any set. Park fans who played the actual Sorcerers game will feel a rush of nostalgia the moment they hold this card. And new Disney collectors looking for an accessible entry point into the Sorcerers world will find the Moon group a fantastic place to start - the Uncommon tier is wallet-friendly, and the characters are pure gold.
I remember a sunny morning at Magic Kingdom when the popcorn smell was drifting all the way from Main Street into Tomorrowland, and a fellow collector and I spent a happy stretch of time comparing our Sorcerers spell cards near one of the interactive kiosks. She had duplicates of a Monster class card I was missing, and we traded right there in the park. That is the kind of magic these cards carry. They are memory cards as much as they are spell cards.
For display and protection, I keep my Sorcerers cards double-sleeved using an Ultra Pro Toploader (Regular) paired with an Ultra Pro PRO-Matte Eclipse Card Sleeves inner sleeve - the combination keeps edges crisp and the artwork perfectly visible. If you are building the full Moon group run, a set of Ultra Pro 9-Pocket Pages lets you display all 18 Crescent cards in sequence inside a binder, and seeing that whole Moon lineup laid out side by side is genuinely beautiful.
Mike's Grand Entrance is easy to find on the secondary market at very friendly prices for this Uncommon tier - a perfect grab for set builders, Monsters, Inc. fans, and anyone who wants a little one-eyed magic on their shelf.
Keep collecting the magic, one card at a time! ✨
