The 1995 Jerry Hanna-Barbera PEZ Dispenser Is the Classic Cartoon Character That Tom and Jerry Collectors Cherish
A Timeless Cartoon Treasure in Candy Form
When I was a kid, my grandmother's kitchen counter was always stocked with PEZ dispensers. But it was the 1995 Jerry Hanna-Barbera PEZ dispenser that really caught my eye - that mischievous mouse grin seemed to leap right at you. Jerry, the beloved animated character from Tom & Jerry, made for an absolutely charming PEZ companion that brought cartoon nostalgia right to your hand.
Design and Sculpt
The Jerry dispenser captures the character's classic look with impressive detail for a PEZ release. The sculpt features Jerry's iconic rounded ears, his signature impish expression, and the characteristic proportions that made him instantly recognizable to anyone who grew up watching the cat-and-mouse chase cartoons. The multi-piece variations mean collectors could encounter different iterations, adding collecting depth for those hunting for complete sets. The paint work, while simplified for a candy dispenser, maintains Jerry's recognizable coloring and gives the piece genuine character.
Hanna-Barbera's Golden Era
The mid-1990s saw PEZ embracing classic animation licenses, and the Hanna-Barbera partnership brought some of the most beloved characters into the dispenser lineup. Jerry's 1995 introduction placed it alongside other cartoon classics from that era. What made this dispenser special was how perfectly PEZ's chunky silhouette matched Jerry's animated design - it felt natural, not forced.
There's something magical about holding a piece of animation history in your hand. The 1995 Jerry dispenser isn't just a candy delivery system - it's a tangible connection to the golden age of hand-drawn cartoons that defined childhoods across generations. That's why this one sits proudly in my collection.
Display and Collection Value
For Hanna-Barbera enthusiasts and PEZ collectors alike, the Jerry dispenser represents a sweet intersection of two collecting passions. The multi-piece variations mean there's chase-worthy collecting potential - you might find yourself hunting for that elusive variant to complete your set. Whether you group it with other Hanna-Barbera PEZ figures or create a dedicated Tom & Jerry section in your collection, this dispenser displays beautifully on shelves or in glass cabinets where it can catch the light and show off its charming sculpt.
Why Collectors Love It
This isn't about resale or market trends. It's about the joy of owning a piece of pop culture history that made you smile when you were younger. The 1995 Jerry PEZ dispenser carries that warmth - a reminder of simpler times when Saturday morning cartoons meant something special. If you collect PEZ, if you love Hanna-Barbera, or if you're drawn to vintage toys with personality, this is one worth tracking down.
Retired and harder to find, the 1995 Jerry stands as a testament to PEZ's willingness to celebrate the characters we loved. It's a collector's treasure that bridges animation history and candy dispensers in the most delightful way.
