McDonald's 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallows - Maple the Moose

Score Big with Maple the Moose - Canada's FIFA World Cup Squishmallow Champion

Well, hello there, fellow Happy Meal hunters! If you've been stopping by McDonald's lately, you've probably already spotted them - the brand new 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallows collection landed on June 4th, and it's bringing genuine worldwide excitement to the Happy Meal table. With 23 different plushies to collect, this promotion feels like a genuine celebration of the beautiful game itself. Today, I'm absolutely delighted to talk about Maple the Moose, one of the three official mascots representing the host nations for the 2026 tournament.

Maple is Canada's official 2026 FIFA World Cup mascot, and seeing him as a Squishmallow is just perfect. This friendly moose arrives dressed in full soccer kit - that's right, complete with a World Cup-themed outfit that makes him instantly recognizable on your shelf. The design captures that classic Squishmallow softness and charm while leaning into the soccer theme. These plushies are compact enough to fit in a lunchbox, durable enough to survive a child's daily adventures, and honestly, pleasant enough to make any collector smile.

"There's something special about collecting toys that celebrate something bigger than just toys themselves - Maple represents Canada's moment on the world stage, and for collectors who love the intersection of sports, geography, and character design, that adds real meaning to tracking down the whole set."

In terms of physical quality, Maple features the signature Squishmallow construction you'd expect - that distinctive soft polyester fabric that feels genuinely nice in hand. The paint applications are clean and sharp, with no noticeable bleeding or rough spots on the sample I've seen images of. The moose's antlers are sculpted cleanly, and the soccer uniform details are crisp without feeling overly textured. Articulation is minimal (as with most Happy Meal Squishmallows), but that's by design - these are built for cuddling and displaying, not for action figure posing. The stitching appears tight and durable, which matters when you've got kids cycling these through backpacks and bedtime routines.

The complete 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallow set includes all 23 characters spread across the three official mascots plus 20 additional Squishmallow characters dressed as World Cup athletes. You've got Clutch the Bald Eagle (USA), Maple the Moose (Canada), and Zayu the Jaguar (Mexico) as the official trio, then a full roster of beloved Squishmallow characters like Cam the Cat, Debra the Capybara, Jude the Elephant, and more - each reimagined in soccer gear. It's a thoughtfully curated set that gives collectors variety in style and character appeal.

Timing-wise, McDonald's launched this promotion June 4-9, 2026 at participating locations worldwide, available while supplies last. Here's a bonus: each Squishmallow comes with a scannable QR code that unlocks digital game access at happymeal.com, so you're actually getting a dual-experience toy - physical collector item plus digital engagement. That's pretty solid value for a Happy Meal purchase, especially when you factor in the global scope of the promotion.

Collector Notes: Display, Storage, and Set-Completion Strategy

If you're thinking about collecting the full set (and honestly, why wouldn't you with 23 different characters?), here's what I'd suggest for smart storage and display:

• Display tier: Maple and the other two official mascots deserve shelf space where they can be seen. A floating shelf above your kids' bedroom door, or a dedicated sports-collectibles shelf, keeps them protected while visible. Squishmallows don't fade in sunlight the way some older toys do, but keeping them out of direct UV is still smart practice.
• Storage strategy: For the remaining 20 characters you're still hunting, clear plastic storage bins (the kind with dividers) keep them organized and safe from dust. Label each bin by release wave if McDonald's stages them in phases, so you can track what you're still chasing.
• Durability: These plushies are genuinely built for daily play. The fabric doesn't pill easily, seams hold tight, and the paint doesn't scratch or chip with normal handling. If you've got collectors aged 4-12 in the house, Maple can absolutely handle being part of a toy rotation without degrading over time.
• Completing the set: With 23 different characters and a global promotion, some regions might receive different assortments. Ask other collectors in your area which characters they've found - local trading communities often pop up fast during McDonald's promotions, and you might find easier paths to complete the collection without driving to every location in three counties.

One practical note on display value: these Squishmallows complement existing collections beautifully. If you're already tracking sports collectibles, World Cup memorabilia, or Squishmallow plushies in the Collectiblz app, Maple fits naturally into all three categories. I love being able to scan items into my collection and mark whether I have them, need them, or would happily trade duplicates - it keeps my hunting focused and helps me spot gaps without obsessing over spreadsheets.

Here's the real question: are you planning to hunt these down? Whether you're building a complete 23-piece set, just grabbing your favorite mascots, or collecting one from each region if variants emerge, Maple the Moose is worth keeping an eye out for. He's practical, charming, well-made, and genuinely meaningful as a licensed World Cup collectible. The 2026 FIFA tournament won't come around again for another four years, which makes this promotion feel special and time-limited in the best way.

Happy hunting at your local McDonald's, and feel free to share which World Cup Squishmallow is at the top of your list!
