Jakey the Praying Mantis: A Peek at This Blue-Pink Bug Squad Cutie
Hold Up, I Found a Bug Friend!
Okay, so I've been on this major insect squad kick lately, and when I spotted Jakey the Praying Mantis 5 inch, I literally had to grab it. This little blue and pink praying mantis is exactly the kind of quirky, adorable bug that makes my collecting heart go pitter-patter.
Jakey is this super soft little guy with those characteristic praying mantis vibes - you know, the poised, thoughtful look that makes you feel like he's always ready to pounce on something adorable. The blue and pink coloring is such a gorgeous combo. It's got that delicate, elegant feel that honestly reminds me of finding treasure at Target during one of their random plush drops.
Size and Squish Factor
At 5 inches, Jakey is the perfect pocket-sized buddy. Seriously, this is the ideal size for desk squeezing, backpack adventures, or just having something soft to hold while scrolling through collectible lists (which I definitely don't do obsessively... okay, I totally do). The squishiness is top-tier - that perfect balance between cushy and huggable without being floppy.
The blue and pink color palette just pops, and the stitching details on the face are so charming. You can tell Jazwares put care into making this little praying mantis friend feel special.
My Insect Squad Love
I've been really getting into the bug and insect squad members lately. There's something about collecting creatures that aren't the typical cuddly animals that just speaks to me. Maybe it's because I'm obsessed with finding those slightly more unusual Squishmallows that don't get as much love. Jakey definitely fits that bill - it's the kind of find that makes me feel like a true collector.
The praying mantis is such a cool choice for a Squishmallow too. You get that unique character vibe, and there's something weirdly charming about a soft, plush version of something that's usually portrayed as intense and predatory. Jakey turns that whole thing on its head with pure cuteness.
Adding to My Collection (and My Wishlist)
Here's the thing though - as much as I love Jakey, I'm always hunting for more. There's constantly new releases, limited editions, and exclusive squad additions that I'm dying to get my hands on. If you're like me and can never have too many Squishmallows, I've actually been keeping a needs list in the Collectiblz app where I track all the ones I'm actively hunting for. It's been such a game-changer for keeping my collecting goals organized!
Final Thoughts
Jakey the Praying Mantis 5 inch is a total gem for anyone who loves bugs, unique characters, or just having adorable little soft friends around. The blue and pink coloring, the perfect squishiness, and that delicate praying mantis design make this one worth adding to your squad. Whether you find it at Target, online, or hunting through your local collectible shops, this is definitely a Squishmallow that deserves shelf space.
