Sonic the Hedgehog Mini TUBBZ Bundle Review - Gotta Collect These Speedy Ducks!
Gotta Go Fast, Duck Lovers! 🦆
When I was a kid, I spent endless hours on my best friend Marcus's Genesis console, chasing rings through Green Hill Zone and trying to beat Sonic to the finish line. It's been three decades, and that little blue hedgehog still brings pure joy to my face. Now, thanks to the Sonic the Hedgehog Mini TUBBZ Bundle, I can celebrate that nostalgia in the most adorable way possible - with seven tiny, beautifully detailed duck versions of gaming's most iconic speedster and his crew.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Mini TUBBZ Bundle brings the entire main cast to life in pocket-sized form. We're talking about Sonic the Hedgehog himself, the cool-as-ice Shadow, the loyal Tails with his twin tails intact, the tough-knuckled Knuckles, the ever-chasing Amy Rose, the dastardly Dr. Eggman, and even Super Sonic in all his powered-up glory. Each duck stands at a diminutive 5 centimeters (about 2 inches) tall - roughly half the size of standard TUBBZ - but don't let that fool you. Numskull Designs hasn't compromised on the detail whatsoever.
Sculpting the Perfect Crew
What impresses me most about these minis is the incredible attention to each character's personality. Sonic sports his confident smirk and signature red sneakers, with the classic spiky quiff rendered as duck plumage. Shadow's stern expression and hover-shoes come through perfectly on a duck body. Tails gets those iconic twin tails flowing behind him (quite the achievement at this scale!), while Knuckles' red coloring and tough-guy attitude shine through. Amy's determination shows in her pose, and Dr. Eggman - sporting a monocle and magnificent mustache around his beak - steals the show as the comedic villain of the set.
The Bathtub Presentation
Each duck arrives in its own miniature bathtub featuring the Sonic the Hedgehog logo, perfectly scaled for the Mini TUBBZ size. The packaging is charming and collector-friendly, and I appreciate how it reflects the original TUBBZ presentation while respecting the smaller scale. The high-quality PVC used throughout feels durable and premium, with vibrant colors that pop - Sonic's blues are brilliant, Shadow's blacks are deep, and the accent colors sing.
Display & Collection Goals
Here's where these minis shine for collectors like me. At just 2 inches tall, they fit nearly anywhere - along my monitor bezels, lined up on a gaming shelf, tucked into the corner of my desk next to my favorite retro games, or displayed as a complete crew on a dedicated gaming collectibles stand. Individually they're cute; as a complete set of seven, they tell the story of Sonic's universe perfectly. I've even started pairing them with my larger TUBBZ from other franchises to create a fun multi-fandom gaming corner.
At $8.99 per duck, this set represents fantastic value for officially licensed, beautifully detailed collectibles. You can grab them individually or hunt down bundles through retailers like the official TUBBZ website, Just Geek, GameStop, Amazon, and Walmart - giving you plenty of shopping options depending on your location and preference.
The Collector's Need
I've got to be honest - the moment I saw this lineup, I knew I needed all seven ducks in my collection. There's something about having the complete Sonic crew that speaks to the kid in me who spent all those hours trying to beat the game. I've added all seven to my needs list in the Collectiblz app, and I'm actively hunting for a mint set. They feel like essential pieces for anyone who grew up in the Sonic era or who appreciates quality gaming collectibles.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Mini TUBBZ Bundle is proof that bigger isn't always better - sometimes, the best treasures come in the smallest packages.
