The 2009 Rosetta Disney Fairies PEZ Dispenser Is the Sassy Garden Fairy Essential Every Disney Collector Needs
There's something absolutely charming about Rosetta, the garden fairy from Disney Fairies. Her warm personality and nurturing nature have made her a fan favorite since her debut in 2008, and when PEZ released the 2009 Rosetta Disney Fairies PEZ dispenser the following year, collectors knew they had to have this sassy fairy in their lineup.
A Second-Wave Addition to the Magical Collection
Rosetta arrived in 2009 as part of the second wave of Disney Fairies dispensers. While the initial line featured Tinkerbell, Silvermist, and Iridessa in 2008, the 2009 expansion brought Rosetta, Terence, and Fawn to join the enchanted collection. This timing meant Rosetta is decidedly rarer than her first-wave fairy friends, making her a sought-after piece for serious collectors building their complete Disney Fairies sets.
The Details That Make Her Stand Out
The sculpting on this dispenser captures Rosetta's personality beautifully. Her auburn hair crowns a charming face, while the body features her signature look: a coral-pink top and a purple flower-shaped skirt adorned with delicate painted detail lines. The US version is particularly special because it includes decorative painted accents on the skirt that you won't find on the European releases. Those little touches matter to collectors who appreciate the artistry that goes into each PEZ design.
Rosetta has always been my favorite of the garden fairies because she balances grace with humor. The way she cares for her friends while not afraid to speak her mind is something I see reflected in this dispenser's design. It feels like PEZ really understood her character.
A Retired Fairy Worth Protecting
Like most PEZ dispensers, the Rosetta dispenser is now retired and no longer in production. This means that sealed, new-in-box examples command attention from collectors, especially those hunting for complete Disney Fairies sets. You'll spot her occasionally on the secondary market, and serious collectors often find that acquiring an entire set is more efficient than chasing down individual characters one by one.
The appeal of this dispenser extends beyond just the character design. The Disney Fairies franchise was hugely successful, with the film series becoming a cultural touchstone for a generation of animated film fans. That nostalgia combined with the excellent sculpting and paint applications makes the Rosetta dispenser a standout piece in any Disney PEZ collection. I've had mine on display alongside my other fairy dispensers for years, and it never fails to bring a smile. I've actually added one to my needs list in the Collectiblz app since I keep getting inspired by stories of sealed versions in pristine condition.
If you're a Disney fan or an avid PEZ collector, the 2009 Rosetta dispenser deserves a spot in your collection. She embodies the charm of the characters that made the franchise so beloved, and her retired status means that finding one in excellent condition is an achievement worth celebrating.
