Skylanders Trap Team Nitro Head Rush: Power Your Own Earth Warrior

There's something magical about the characters who charge headfirst into adventure!
Nitro Head Rush from Skylanders: Trap Team is an Earth element Trap Master that embodies everything I love about this franchise - powerful character design, incredible gameplay mechanics, and that special Skylanders magic that draws you right into the action. She's the bold, brave warrior of the earth, wielding Traptanium horns that make her one of the most visually striking figures in the entire collection.
Head Rush's origin story has always resonated with me. She grew up in a small village that fell under the spell of a powerful Harvest Sphinx, who forced the villagers to plow endless fields of golden grass for his benefit. While everyone cowered in fear, Head Rush saw an opportunity for courage. She charged through the village shouting a mighty yodel that broke the spell, awakened her neighbors from their paralysis, and led them to drive the Sphinx from their land forever. That's the essence of her character - a leader, a fighter, and someone who refuses to accept defeat. I remember first playing Trap Team on my couch and watching her charge into battle like an unstoppable force of nature. The combination of physical power and sonic abilities made her a standout choice, and I've been collecting different variants of her ever since.
The Trap Master series gave Head Rush incredible gameplay depth. Her primary attacks include headbanging (holding the button for continuous damage), charging forward like a charging bull, and that signature yodel attack that damages all enemies within earshot. As you level her up, you unlock "Lungs of Steel" - a devastating ability to sing away enemies at massive range - and the "Big Bang Stomp" combo that feels absolutely brutal when you land it. The charge attack gains a turn mechanic at higher levels, letting you do a 180-degree directional change mid-charge and hit enemies on the turn. But the real power comes when you fill up her Trap Attack meter by collecting Traptanium shards in combat - that unleash moment is pure Skylanders satisfaction.
Now, the Nitro variant takes everything that makes the original Head Rush iconic and gives her a fresh color scheme that feels premium and exclusive. Instead of the original's red hair and brown armor, Nitro Head Rush sports rich brown hair paired with gorgeous gold-colored armor and boots. The white and gold checkerboard pattern on her gloves adds that extra collector detail, and of course, those legendary Traptanium horns are still front and center. The sculpt captures her powerful posture perfectly - she looks ready to charge into action at any moment. The paint application is sharp, the detail is incredible, and from every angle she displays beautifully.
What makes Nitro Head Rush special in the broader context of Trap Team is her exclusivity. As a Target exclusive release, she represents a piece of Skylanders history when major retailers got their own unique character variants. In terms of rarity and collector appeal, she absolutely stands out. Fun fact: Head Rush and Blastermind are the only two Trap Masters in the entire series with Traptanium mounted directly on their helmets, making them visually distinctive among all the other Trap Masters. That's a detail worth hunting for if you're building a complete Trap Team display.
When I display my Skylanders collection, I always group my figures by element, and Earth warriors like Nitro Head Rush take pride of place. The way her gold armor catches the light next to other earth figures creates a stunning visual - especially paired with other earth-themed figures if you have those. She's the kind of figure that demands shelf space and rewards you with visual impact every single time you walk past your display.
If you're a serious Skylanders collector or just someone who appreciates the character design and lore of the franchise, Nitro Head Rush is absolutely worth tracking down. She's a powerful Earth warrior with incredible gameplay potential, a compelling backstory, and the kind of exclusive status that makes collecting special. This sculpt is just incredible - the details, the pose, the elemental glow through that gold armor - it brings back every Saturday morning I spent with the controller in hand, charging into Trap Team adventures.
