2025 Topps Chrome Disney #95b Pluto VARVAR: Horizontal, Pluto Running - Dynamic Base Set Magic
Hey Disney Card Collectors!
Oh my gosh, you NEED to see this card! I just got my hands on the 2025 Topps Chrome Disney #95b Pluto VARVAR: Horizontal, Pluto Running card, and I am absolutely bouncing with excitement. This is not your standard Pluto pose - oh no - this is Pluto in full motion, ears flapping, tail wagging, running across the card in horizontal glory. If you love action shots and Mickey's best friend, this card is calling your name!
For those keeping track, this is the variant card 95b from the 2025 Topps Chrome Disney base set. The VARVAR designation means we get a variation on the standard Pluto card with a completely different action pose. And what a pose it is! Pluto is captured mid-run, all four paws off the ground, tongue probably hanging out (we all know that lovable goofy face), racing toward... well, maybe a bone, maybe Mickey, or maybe just pure joy. That's Pluto for you!
The Chrome finish on this card is *chef's kiss* perfection. Topps Chrome always delivers that signature refractor shine, and Pluto's orange fur just pops against the background. The horizontal orientation gives the card a cinematic feel, like you're watching a frame from a classic Disney short. You can almost hear the pitter-patter of his paws and that excited panting. It takes me right back to watching Mickey Mouse cartoons on Saturday mornings with a bowl of cereal, giggling at Pluto's antics.
Sometimes the best magic is a loyal friend running to greet you with boundless joy.
I have such a soft spot for Pluto. He's been Mickey's faithful companion since 1930, and he's never lost that pure, innocent energy. Every time I see Pluto at Walt Disney World - whether it's in the parade, at a character meet, or on merchandise - I just smile. He represents that uncomplicated happiness we all need more of. And this VARVAR card captures that spirit beautifully.
Speaking of the parks, I'll never forget the time I met Pluto at Magic Kingdom during the Festival of Fantasy parade. He came bounding over to the rope line, gave me the biggest hug, and posed for photos like the absolute star he is. His handler had him "shake" with everyone, and you could just feel the love pouring from that character. That's the energy this card gives me - pure, unfiltered Pluto enthusiasm.
Collector's Notes: Why This VARVAR Matters
Variant cards like this 95b are essential for set completists. The standard #95 Pluto card is great, but having both the base and the VARVAR variation shows you're a serious collector who appreciates all the different poses and angles Topps offers. These horizontal action shots are some of my favorite types of cards because they break up the standard portrait orientation and give your binder a dynamic, layered look.
The 2025 Topps Chrome Disney set has been incredible overall - the character selection, the Chrome quality, the mix of classic and modern characters - and the VARVAR cards add that extra layer of collectibility. Pluto fans will definitely want to track this one down alongside the regular #95. And if you're building a "Mickey and Friends" collection like I am, this running Pluto is a must-have centerpiece.
Rarity-wise, VARVAR cards tend to be a bit harder to find than standard base cards. They're not quite short-prints, but they're not in every pack either, so you'll want to keep your eyes peeled at your local card shop or during breaks. The secondary market prices stay pretty reasonable for base-level VARVARs like this, making it accessible for collectors at all levels. Still, it's that thrill of the hunt that makes finding one in a pack so rewarding!
Display Ideas
This card would look fantastic in a standard 9-pocket binder page right next to the regular #95 Pluto card so you can compare the poses. I'm also thinking about putting mine in a magnetic one-touch case and displaying it on my shelf with my other Mickey and Friends Chrome cards. The horizontal orientation makes it stand out, and that Chrome shine just begs to be shown off.
If you're into grading, this card could be a fun one to send in, especially if you pull a pristine copy. A PSA 10 or BGS 9.5 Pluto VARVAR would be a sweet addition to any Disney collection, and it pairs beautifully with other graded Pluto cards or Mickey's whole gang.
I've been trying to collect every Pluto card from the 2025 Chrome Disney set - base, parallels, inserts, the works - and I marked this 95b as NEED in my Collectiblz app until I finally snagged one last week. Now it's proudly marked as HAVE, and I'm one step closer to completing my Pluto collection. If you use Collectiblz to track your 2025 Topps Chrome Disney checklist, you'll definitely want to add both #95 and #95b so you don't miss either version!
Whether you're a Pluto superfan, a Mickey and Friends collector, or just someone who loves adorable action shots on Chrome cards, the 2025 Topps Chrome Disney #95b Pluto VARVAR: Horizontal, Pluto Running card is pure magic. Happy collecting, friends!
💛 Tilly
