The SpongeBob SquarePants (Glitter) PEZ Dispenser Is the Sparkling Bikini Bottom Must-Have Every 2020 Collection Needs
Welcome to the Glittery Side of Bikini Bottom
Welcome to the glittery side of Bikini Bottom, PEZ fans! If you love SpongeBob and you love when a dispenser adds a little sparkle to your shelf, today is exactly your kind of day. The SpongeBob SquarePants (Glitter) PEZ Dispenser is one of those pieces that earns its place in a collection not just because of who it is, but because of how it looks - and this one looks fantastic.
The SpongeBob SquarePants (Glitter) PEZ Dispenser
Part of the official SpongeBob SquarePants PEZ Collection introduced in 2020, this dispenser features everyone's favorite undersea fry cook in a glitter-finished presentation that sets it apart from its standard counterparts. The dispenser was released as part of PEZ's ongoing partnership with the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise and came packaged in a PEZ Branded Bag - the same poly bag format used across the 2020 SpongeBob collection. Each dispenser includes two PEZ candy refills, with candy made in the U.S.A. and crafted to be peanut-free, tree nut-free, and gluten-free. The dispenser is recommended for ages 3 and up.
What the Glitter Variant Looks Like
The SpongeBob SquarePants (Glitter) dispenser features SpongeBob's iconic, instantly recognizable sculpt - his wide grin, big blue eyes, two front buck teeth, and square, sponge-textured head. What makes this specific variant special is the glitter treatment applied to the dispenser, which gives the character a shimmery, light-catching quality. Depending on the display setting, the glitter effect can shift the look subtly from deep yellow to something that genuinely glows under the right lighting. It is a small production detail, but one that makes a real visual difference when you line this one up next to the other SpongeBob variants from the same year.
The standard PEZ flip-top mechanism means it functions just like any other dispenser in your collection - easy to load, satisfying to operate, and reliable over time. The stem keeps SpongeBob's rectangular frame nicely upright on any flat display surface, making it a clean and stable addition to a themed shelf.
The 2020 SpongeBob collection is one of those rare sets where multiple versions of the same character actually make sense to collect together. The Bubbles, Crystal, and Glitter variants each bring something different to the shelf - and when all three are lined up, you can see just how much thought went into giving each one its own visual identity. The Glitter variant, in particular, catches the eye first.
The Full 2020 SpongeBob SquarePants Collection
The 2020 SpongeBob SquarePants PEZ Collection included multiple variants of the character, giving collectors a reason to seek out more than one. The SpongeBob SquarePants (Bubbles) dispenser features SpongeBob's sculpt paired with a stem printed with bubble designs - a fun nod to life under the sea. The SpongeBob SquarePants (Crystal) dispenser showcases SpongeBob in a translucent, clear-bodied treatment that makes the sculpt feel almost gem-like. And then there is the Glitter variant covered here, which brings the warmth of that classic SpongeBob yellow with the added shimmer of glitter across the piece. Together, all three form a cohesive set that demonstrates the range of finish options PEZ explored within a single character license - and all three share the same poly bag packaging and candy-included format.
For display purposes, grouping all three 2020 SpongeBob variants side by side makes for a striking visual - especially when placed near natural or accent lighting that picks up the glitter and crystal finishes. If you collect by character, having this full trio on your shelf gives you a complete picture of how the 2020 PEZ run treated this license.

I picked this one up shortly after it hit shelves, and it is absolutely one I plan to keep front and center in my SpongeBob display. I have it marked in the Collectiblz app - if you track your own collection, it is a great tool for keeping tabs on variants just like this one. Highly recommend checking it out if you are not already using it to manage your PEZ collection.
