2025 Topps Disney Wonder #145 Ulf - The Spirited Mime of Tangled's Base Set Tier 2
From the Snuggly Duckling, With Love - Ulf Has Arrived in the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder Base Set!
Hey there, fellow collectors and Disney dreamers! You know that magical feeling when you pull a card from a set and it just makes you smile because you had completely forgotten how much you loved that character? That happened to me the moment I spotted card #145 in the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder Base Set Tier 2 checklist. Friends, today we are talking about Ulf - the sweetest, most expressive mime in all of Tangled. And yes, he absolutely deserves his very own card. 🎴
Who Is Ulf, and Why Does He Belong in Your Collection?
If you are a Tangled fan through and through like I am, you already know and love the Pub Thugs. These lovable ruffians who fill the Snuggly Duckling are one of the most delightful parts of that film. Ulf is the mime of the group - he communicates entirely through gesture, expression, and perfectly timed pantomime. He does not say a single word, and yet somehow he is one of the most expressive characters in the whole movie. The scene where all the Pub Thugs share their hidden dreams is pure joy, and Ulf steals every moment he is in without ever opening his mouth. The way he captures so much heart through movement alone is genuinely incredible.
On his 2025 Topps Disney Wonder card, Ulf gets to shine in that beautiful illustrated storybook art style that makes the entire Wonder set so special. The card design captures his larger-than-life mime personality perfectly. That exaggerated expression, the classic mime energy - it all comes through in the painterly artwork that Topps Wonder is known for. The warm, dreamlike color palette of the set wraps Ulf in a glow that feels like stepping right into a fairy tale. The illustrated style of Topps Disney Wonder gives every character a softness and magic that feels so right for a film as visually gorgeous as Tangled.
"Every character has a dream worth chasing - even the one who never says a word."
The Tangled Tier 2 Duo - Ulf and Vladimir Side by Side
One of the things I love most about 2025 Topps Disney Wonder is how thoughtfully the checklist is organized. Card #144, Vladimir, appears right before Ulf in the Base Set Tier 2 lineup - and together these two Snuggly Duckling regulars make for a wonderful little Tangled pocket collection within the Tier 2 run. Vladimir is the big tough Pub Thug who secretly dreams about collecting ceramic unicorns, and Ulf is the mime with a heart of pure gold. Side by side in a binder or displayed together, these two tell a complete story all on their own. If you are building out the full Tier 2 set, grabbing both Vladimir and Ulf is an absolute must. Pair them with Flynn Rider (#76), Rapunzel (#74), and Mother Gothel (#75) from Tier 1 and you have a lovely, comprehensive Tangled display run that any Tangled fan would absolutely treasure.
A Disney Night I Still Think About
I remember one evening at Walt Disney World, sitting near Fantasyland after the Festival of Fantasy parade had passed. My best friend and I had spent the whole day in the park and we were a little tired but completely happy - that good kind of happy that only Disney can give you. We started talking about our favorite Disney movies and both of us landed on Tangled almost immediately. We debated who our favorite side character was. She said Pascal. I said Ulf without even hesitating. There is something so universally funny and sweet about a giant, intimidating man who communicates entirely through mime and just wants to be understood. He is all of us, honestly. Now every time I look at this card, I am right back in that moment - popcorn smell still in the air, fireworks about to start, laughing with someone I love about a mime from a Disney movie.
Collector Notes - Where Ulf Fits in Your 2025 Topps Disney Wonder Journey
Here is what you need to know about where Ulf fits in the checklist and why he matters to different types of collectors:
- Base Set Tier 2 cards (#101-150) are the supporting cast and beloved sidekicks of the Disney universe. These 50 cards round out the main 190-card base set and are essential pulls for any dedicated set builder chasing completion.
- Tier 2 parallels include Purple Foil (/99), Gold Foil (/50), Orange Foil (/25), Black Sparkle Foil (/10), Red Sparkle Foil (/5), and the FoilFractor (1/1). A Ulf Gold Foil or FoilFractor would be an absolutely wild and wonderful pull for any Tangled fan.
- For character collectors chasing every Tangled card in the Wonder set, Ulf and Vladimir together give you a sweet little Snuggly Duckling mini-collection that really brings that corner of the film to life on a shelf or in a binder.
- For set builders, Tier 2 is achievable from hobby and blaster boxes alike, and completing the full 150-card base run feels incredibly satisfying once every card is marked off the checklist.
Display Your Ulf in Style
For a base card like this one, I love sliding mine into an Ultra Pro Snap Card Frame for easy display on a shelf - it is so simple to swap out and rearrange whenever inspiration strikes, which for me is quite often. When I want to keep a whole run of Tier 2 cards protected individually, I also reach for an Ultra Pro Hinged Card Holder, especially for standout pieces I want to be able to show off and enjoy every single day. Either way, Ulf deserves a proper home in your collection.
If you use the Collectiblz app to track your 2025 Topps Disney Wonder progress, make sure to mark your Ulf as Have once he arrives. Watching that Tier 2 checklist fill in is one of the most satisfying parts of the whole Wonder collecting experience. Every card checked off feels like a little celebration. ✨
Ulf is one of those cards that makes the 2025 Topps Disney Wonder set feel truly special - because it celebrates the characters who make every Disney story richer just by being in it. No words needed. 🏰
