The Space Jam: A New Legacy LeBron James PEZ Dispenser Is the Movie Tie-In Collector Piece Every Fan of the Film Needs
Hey, candy collectors! If you grew up watching the original Space Jam and found yourself back in a theater in 2021 for Space Jam: A New Legacy, then the LeBron James PEZ Dispenser from that era is probably already on your radar. And if it is not, let me tell you why it deserves a spot on your shelf.
A Movie Moment Captured in PEZ
Released in 2021 to coincide with Warner Bros.' Space Jam: A New Legacy, the LeBron James PEZ Dispenser is a licensed collectible that brings King James himself into the beloved world of candy dispensers. Packaged in a branded polybag with two PEZ candy refills included, this one is ready to display right out of the wrapper. The dispenser features a sculpt styled after LeBron's appearance in the film, giving it that pop culture snapshot quality that makes movie tie-in collectibles so fun to track down years later.
The Full Space Jam: A New Legacy PEZ Collection
This LeBron James dispenser did not arrive alone. The complete Space Jam: A New Legacy PEZ lineup included:
- Bugs Bunny -- the Looney Tunes icon back at center court
- LeBron James -- the film's star in dispenser form
- Tweety Bird -- a classic Looney Tunes face rounding out the roster
PEZ also offered a 12-count Party Pack and a Gift Set pairing Bugs Bunny and LeBron James together in one box with six candy refills. The Gift Set version is especially appealing if you want the marquee duo from the film displayed together.
Character Sculpt and Physical Details
The LeBron James dispenser head sculpt captures his likeness in that PEZ-signature simplified style -- recognizable, clean, and collector-friendly. The stem comes in a classic form factor. The polybag packaging keeps it looking crisp on display and is the standard presentation for single-character PEZ releases from this era. Two candy refills are included, which is always a nice bonus.
What I find charming about movie tie-in PEZ dispensers is the time capsule quality. Years from now, holding this LeBron James dispenser will bring back exactly when this film hit -- a specific pop culture moment frozen in plastic and candy.
Collector Notes
The Space Jam: A New Legacy PEZ collection was a wide-release licensed tie-in, available at major retailers and through the official PEZ online store during the film's 2021 launch window. Single dispensers like this one were sold individually in polybags, making them easy to find at the time but increasingly a fun hunt now that the promotional period has passed. The Gift Set version with Bugs Bunny is the harder-to-find option and tends to attract more attention from PEZ completists.
This dispenser appeals to a couple of collecting communities: PEZ collectors who pursue licensed sports and entertainment figures, and NBA or LeBron James fans who like to pick up unique tie-in merchandise from his career highlights. That crossover appeal makes it a genuinely interesting piece to own.
The candy itself -- PEZ brand -- is made in the U.S.A. and is peanut, tree nut, and gluten-free. Rated for ages 3 and up.
Display Ideas
Group this one with your other sports and entertainment crossover PEZ pieces -- think franchise characters, movie tie-ins, and athlete dispensers. It pairs naturally with other Looney Tunes PEZ if you want to build out a full Tune Squad shelf. The polybag format keeps it looking clean even unopened, which is a plus for display-only collectors.
NEITHER -- I do not personally own this one yet, but it is absolutely on my want list. 🍬
