The Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey: A Fantastical Disney Infinity Treasure
A Spellbound Memory of Fantasia
Oh, I absolutely adore this sculpt! The Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey Figure from Disney Infinity 1.0 is one of those figures that instantly takes me back to my childhood - sitting in the theater watching Fantasia and being completely mesmerized by Mickey's magical mishaps. There's something so charming about this version of Mickey, all decked out in that iconic red and blue apprentice outfit with the pointed hat. The artistry is just magical! 🪄
This Disney Infinity Mickey figure captures the essence of that beloved 1940 film perfectly. The sculpting shows Mickey in his classic apprentice pose, with meticulous details throughout the figure. From the perfectly painted red robe to the vibrant blue base outfit, every color is spot-on to the film's animation style. The expression on his face is just perfect - that mix of confidence and mischief right before everything goes hilariously wrong.
The Magic Behind the Figure
Released on February 9, 2014, as part of the original Disney Infinity 1.0 line, this individual figure gave us access to Mickey's Magical Escape game experience. The Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey figure brought voice talent from the one and only Bret Iwan, who continues to be the voice of Mickey in the modern era. The figure is perfectly suited for Toy Box Mode adventures, where you could create your own magical stories.
What really draws me to this particular version is how it celebrates one of Disney's most iconic animated sequences. The attention to the magical hat, the subtle paint applications that show Mickey's confident stance - it all comes together in a figure that feels like it stepped right out of the 1940 film. The sculpt shows excellent articulation possibilities, making it great for display or play.
A Collector's Treasure
The Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey holds a special place in any Disney Infinity collection, especially for those of us who grew up with Fantasia. As one of the original 1.0 releases, it's become a sought-after figure for collectors looking to complete their sets. The individual figure release meant you could pick it up without needing a larger Play Set.
What really gets me is how this figure represents that golden age of Disney animation. "I'm sure I can handle this!" - that's the energy Mickey brings to the role, and this figure perfectly encapsulates that determination and charm. When I look at this Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey on my shelf, I'm not just seeing a collectible - I'm seeing a piece of animation history that helped define what Disney magic means.
I have this one on my Disney Infinity shelf right alongside my collection of other magical Mickey figures. If you're hunting for one to complete your own collection, I've got it on my needs list in the Collectiblz app - there's something so special about owning these pieces of Disney magic! The Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey is definitely worth seeking out if you're a fan of the original film or collecting classic Disney Infinity figures.
