McDonald's 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallows - Debra the Capybara
A World Cup Squishmallow Celebration
This June, McDonald's is bringing back its partnership with Squishmallow for the 2026 FIFA World Cup promotion, and I couldn't be more excited. The collection features adorable plush characters, each representing different aspects of the tournament. Today, I'm looking at Debra the Capybara, one of the collection's standout characters.
Debra is a soft, huggable plush toy with the signature Squishmallow appeal - round body, embroidered eyes, and a gentle expression that makes her instantly lovable. The sculpt captures that characteristically calm, content capybara personality. The color palette is soft and calming, with carefully stitched details that make her distinctive. At the standard Happy Meal size, she's perfect for a child's hands or a collector's shelf.
One thing I appreciate about these FIFA World Cup plushes is how Squishmallow manages to give each character a unique personality despite the unified theme. Debra feels special, not just a recolor of another design. The stitching quality is consistent throughout, and the plush material feels durable enough to withstand regular play from younger collectors.
There's something comforting about capybaras - they're the gentle giants of the rodent world, always seeming content no matter what's going on around them. Debra captures that perfectly in plush form.
This is part of a larger collection, and Debra pairs well with the other FIFA World Cup characters. Whether you're collecting them all or just drawn to Debra specifically, she's a solid addition to a Squishmallow or Happy Meal toy collection. I've added her to my needs list in the Collectiblz app, and I'm curious to see what other characters McDonald's includes in upcoming waves.
Collector Notes
Play vs. Display: Debra works equally well as a cuddly toy for kids or a display piece for plush collectors. Her soft construction means she won't damage other items in storage.
Durability: The Squishmallow construction is reliable. Debra should hold up well to casual play and the occasional wash. The embroidered details are neat and shouldn't unravel easily with normal care.
Wave Completion: If you're collecting the full FIFA World Cup series, Debra is worth hunting for - she's one of the memorable characters that has real personality.
Long-term Nostalgia: World Cup promotions at McDonald's are always special. In a few years, this 2026 FIFA collection will feel nostalgic and harder to find. Keeping Debra in good condition means she'll stay a fun memory of this fun promotion.
Storage Ideas
Squishmallows like Debra are perfect for a dedicated plush bin or shelf. Keep her away from direct sunlight to preserve the color. Many collectors display their Happy Meal Squishmallows on floating shelves or in clear storage containers, which keeps them dust-free while still visible. If you're mixing McDonald's toys from different eras, grouping by promotion and year makes for a satisfying display.
