McDonald's 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallows - Maui the Pineapple
Bringing Tropical Flavors to Soccer Season
There's something delightful about a pineapple-themed character joining the FIFA World Cup celebration. This 2026 Squishmallows promotion brings Maui the Pineapple to McDonald's Happy Meal lineups, and this little tropical friend has become quite popular among collectors. The soft plush construction and bright coloring make Maui instantly recognizable whether you're a soccer fan, a Squishmallow enthusiast, or simply someone who loves fun food-themed collectibles.
Maui's cheerful demeanor and unique fruit character design set it apart in this promotional wave, making it an instant favorite for anyone drawn to the more colorful, personality-driven Squishmallows in the collection.
Design and Feel
Like all Squishmallows, Maui features the characteristic soft polyester fabric that makes these plushes so huggable. The pineapple design includes molded details that capture the fruit's crown texture on top, with embroidered facial features that give the character personality. The vibrant yellow and green coloring is standard Squishmallow quality - bright without being garish. For a Happy Meal premium, it's a solid sculpt that holds up well to handling and play.
The World Cup Connection
This 2026 FIFA World Cup tie-in marks McDonald's commitment to aligning their Happy Meal promotions with major global sporting events. Maui sits alongside other Squishmallows characters from the same wave, each bringing different personality and color variations to complete a collector's set. The promotional window typically runs for several weeks during the actual tournament buildup, so availability can vary by location and timing.
Wave Completeness and Variants
The full 2026 FIFA World Cup Squishmallows collection includes multiple characters beyond Maui - each with distinct designs and personalities. Collectors should check local McDonald's locations for regional variations or special release patterns. Some Happy Meal promotions feature sequential releases or wave-based distributions, so getting the complete set might require visits across several weeks.
Why Collectors Love This One
For both kids and adult collectors, Maui appeals on multiple levels. Soccer fans appreciate the World Cup connection, Squishmallow enthusiasts enjoy the consistent quality and cute character design, and parents appreciate that these are age-appropriate collectibles that spark genuine interest. The pineapple theme adds a whimsical touch that stands out even among an already colorful product line. This isn't a character that screams "generic promo item" - it has personality and charm.
Completing Your Collection
If you're hunting for the complete 2026 FIFA World Cup wave and Maui is still on your wish list, visiting participating McDonald's locations and checking their current promotions is your best bet. For serious collectors tracking their progress, I keep my needs list updated in the Collectiblz app so I know exactly what's still missing from my own collection - and having that digital reference has been a game-changer for completing sets like this one.
Display and Storage Tips
Maui works beautifully whether displayed on a shelf with the rest of the FIFA World Cup wave, stored in a clear bin with other Squishmallows, or even kept in the original Happy Meal bag for those who prefer mint-in-package collecting. A shallow bin or fabric storage box keeps soft plushes protected from dust while remaining easy to browse. Grouping by promotional wave helps keep your collection organized and makes it easier to spot gaps when you're actively hunting for missing pieces.
Collector Notes
From a durability standpoint, Squishmallows hold up remarkably well. The stitching on Happy Meal versions is solid, and the fabric resists pilling when handled normally. Whether you're buying for a young soccer fan, an established Squishmallow collector, or yourself, Maui is a worthy addition to any collection centered on sports tie-ins or bright, personality-driven characters. The World Cup theme gives this promotional run lasting appeal beyond the actual tournament season - collectors years from now will still value a complete 2026 FIFA wave. Keep Maui away from direct sunlight to preserve the vibrant yellows and greens, and this plush will remain a cheerful centerpiece of your Happy Meal collectibles for years.
