The Red Bird Angry Birds Movie 2 Popcorn Bucket Is the Face-Changing Theater Collectible Every Movie Fan Deserves
A Collectible That Brings the Attitude
The Angry Birds 2 Face Changing Popcorn Bucket Red Bird is one of the standout collectibles from Major Cineplex's 2019 Angry Birds Movie 2 tie-in merchandise. This 130-ounce metal tin brings the irreverent energy of the Angry Birds franchise straight to the popcorn counter, with a face-changing design that shifts the Red Bird's expression depending on how you look at it-a playful nod to the character's volatile nature.
Sculpted in embossed metal with a high-gloss finish, the bucket stands about 8 inches tall and holds its distinctive cylindrical shape with character personality baked in. The vibrant red coloring immediately signals which Angry Bird you're getting, and the 7-3/8-inch diameter gives it real shelf presence. This isn't just a popcorn vessel; it's a theatrical moment captured in tin.
The Theater Exclusive Magic
Released during August and September 2019 to coincide with the theatrical run of Angry Birds Movie 2, this bucket was available exclusively at Major Cineplex locations across Thailand and select partners in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian markets. Theater exclusives hit different-they're tied to a specific moment in pop culture, a specific summer, a specific opening weekend. You couldn't just walk into a store and grab this. You had to be there, popcorn run in hand, when the movie was in theaters.
Theater collectibles are the best kind of time capsules. They're not merchandise you ordered online weeks later-they're the thing you grabbed while actually experiencing the movie, making them instant artifacts of that particular cinema moment.
Display Collector Notes
For collectors, this bucket hits on multiple fronts. First, it's a movie-theater exclusive, which automatically boosts display value compared to general retail character merchandise. Second, the face-changing mechanism makes it genuinely interactive-it's not just sitting there, it's *doing something*. Third, it's a legitimate licensed property tie-in from the theatrical release, making it solid for anyone collecting movie theater popcorn buckets or Angry Birds merchandise from that era.
The metal construction means it's durable enough to actually display without worry, and the compact footprint makes it work well in tight shelf situations or grouped with other theater buckets. If you're a film-franchise collector or a theater-collectible focused collector, this one bridges both worlds effectively.
A Natural Addition
The Red Bird bucket captures the chaotic energy of the Angry Birds universe in a way that feels authentic to the franchise. It's not a generic tie-in-it leans into the character personality. That's what keeps it memorable years later, long after the movie's left theaters and the promotional period ended. This is exactly the kind of collectible that rewards actually hunting for it at the cinema.
If you've been looking to round out your theater popcorn bucket collection or your Angry Birds shelf, this one's worth tracking down. And if you don't have it yet, I've got it on my needs list right here in the Collectiblz app-always hunting for the good stuff.
