The 2009 Fawn Disney PEZ Dispenser Is the Forest Spirit Essential Every Bambi Collector Deserves
A Graceful Classic from the Hundred Acre Wood
When I first spotted the 2009 Fawn Disney PEZ Dispenser at a vintage show in Columbus, I knew I had to write about it. This charming dispenser captures one of Disney's most beloved characters - the delicate, wide-eyed fawn from the original 1942 animated classic. The simple yet elegant sculpt reminds me of why I started collecting Disney PEZ in the first place.
Design and Details
The 2009 Fawn features that characteristic Disney PEZ attention to detail. The sculpt perfectly captures the fawn's gentle expression, with hand-painted eyes and a soft cream and brown color palette that matches the character's iconic look. The stem is the signature PEZ white, and the overall proportions make this dispenser feel collectible yet utterly charming on display. It stands at the standard PEZ height and operates smoothly - the candy feed is reliable, and the mechanism feels solid even now.
A Collector's Perspective
The 2009 Disney PEZ releases were particularly special because they marked a resurgence in quality character sculpting. Each one felt like Hasbro really understood what we collectors wanted - authentic character representation in that compact, nostalgic PEZ form.
This dispenser represents a wonderful moment in Disney PEZ history. The 2009 lineup brought back beloved characters that had been missing from the catalog, and Fawn was absolutely one of the standouts. It's not overly rare, but it's become harder to find in excellent condition, especially with that perfect paint and clean stem. I actually found this one on my needs list in the Collectiblz app, and checking it off felt like a real victory.
Display Ideas
If you collect Disney PEZ, the Fawn works beautifully grouped with other 2009 releases or alongside other woodland-themed dispensers. I keep mine with my other classic Disney characters - it bridges perfectly between the vintage originals and the more modern releases. Whether you're building a complete 2009 Disney set or hunting for individual favorites, this gentle fawn deserves a spot in your collection.
