Pluto Joins the Academy: When Mickey's Best Friend Gets His Scholarly Moment!
Welcome to the Academy, Pluto!
When I first spotted the Disney Doorables Academy Exclusive Pluto figure, I knew I had to have it. There's something special about seeing Mickey's best friend get the full academic treatment - complete with that signature Doorables glossy finish and those oversized, expressive eyes that always steal the show.
Pluto is one of the most iconic Disney characters, and his Academy version captures everything I love about the Doorables line. The figure stands at that perfect 1.5-inch size, with the soft, squishy feel that makes Doorables so satisfying to hold and display. The colors are vibrant - that classic golden-orange Pluto tone with beautiful detailing around his features and his academy-themed accessories.
A Special Edition for Collectors
This exclusive Pluto variant is perfect for anyone building a complete Academy collection. I pulled this during a Target haul a few weeks back, and honestly, I wasn't expecting to find an exclusive variant on the shelf. That's the thing about Doorables - just when you think you've seen the complete wave, there's a special edition waiting to surprise you.
"Pluto might be a dog, but he's got the heart of a true scholar. There's no way he's not the most popular pup in this Academy!"
As someone who visits Walt Disney World at least twice a month, I've always had a soft spot for Pluto. Growing up, Mickey's faithful companion was a constant at the parks, and pulling this exclusive version feels like bringing home a little piece of magic. It's marked in my Collectiblz app, and I'm already thinking about how it'll fit into my growing Academy collection.
Display Goals and Collector Notes
I'm planning to display this figure on a tiered acrylic riser alongside my other exclusive Academy pulls. There's something satisfying about grouping the rare and special editions together - it really highlights how lucky you need to be to find these variants in the wild. Pluto's friendly expression and that distinctive pose will shine on a display shelf, especially when the Doorables' signature glossy finish catches the light.
Whether you're a Pluto fan, an Academy completionist, or just someone who loves exclusive variants, this figure deserves a spot in your collection. The Doorables line never disappoints when it comes to capturing character personality and charm.
