Dagobah Calling: LEGO Star Wars Yoda's Hut and Jedi Training 75422

Hey there, fellow builders! Word is spreading fast through the LEGO fan community this week. A new report out of GameRant, sourced from the leaker known as Brick Tap, has detailed eleven upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets planned for 2027, timed to the franchise's fiftieth anniversary. The wave covers everything from a Death Star II display piece to a scaled up Luke Skywalker figure, but the one that stopped me mid scroll was the rumored Master Yoda set, a roughly 1,200 piece build reportedly carrying a $149.99 price tag.
None of that is official yet, so while we wait for LEGO to confirm anything about 2027, I went digging through what is already on shelves that scratches a similar itch. That search led me back to the LEGO Yoda's Hut and Jedi Training set, item 75422 in the current Star Wars lineup. It is not one of the leaked anniversary sets. It is a real, already released build themed around Yoda's home on Dagobah, the swampy corner of the galaxy where Luke trained with the Force in The Empire Strikes Back, and it has been sitting in my build queue for a while.
Inside the Hut
Set 75422 comes in at 440 pieces and retails for $69.99, putting it in the mid range for a themed playset rather than a display centerpiece. The hut itself is a brick built dome with a removable roof, so you can lift the whole top off and drop straight into the interior instead of peeking through a doorway. Inside there is a small sleeping area and a cooking nook, both scaled to give the hut a lived in feel even though the footprint is compact. LEGO clearly leaned into accessibility over strict screen accuracy here, and I appreciate that choice.
SMART Minifigures and a Familiar Droid
The figure lineup is the real hook. You get a SMART Yoda and a SMART Luke Skywalker, both compatible with LEGO's SMART Tag system, plus a standard R2-D2 droid figure rounding out the trio. Two SMART Tags ship in the box, and when tapped to a compatible SMART Brick they trigger sound and light responses tied to each character, a neat bit of tech for a franchise built on blending physical building with movie magic. Even without the SMART Brick hardware, the minifigures stand on their own as solid additions to a Dagobah themed shelf.
- Set number 75422, Star Wars theme
- 440 pieces, $69.99 MSRP
- Includes SMART Yoda, SMART Luke Skywalker, and R2-D2 minifigures
- Two SMART Tags included, recommended for ages 8 and up
A Clever Connection
The part of this build that got my attention as a builder rather than a Star Wars fan is the Force training area attached to the side of the hut. It uses a simple lever and balance point to let a minifigure appear to lift or tilt an object, echoing Luke's training sequence from the film without any motorized parts. It is a small footprint mechanism, just a handful of pieces, but it turns a static display into something you can actually act out.
The best playsets hide their engineering in plain sight. A single pivot point here does more storytelling than most sets manage with three times the piece count.
Collector Notes
At roughly sixteen cents per piece, 75422 sits on the higher end for a set this size, and it leans more toward play value than a polished display piece. Some reviewers have pointed out the hut interior is fairly sparse and the SMART functionality is limited to just two tags, fair criticism if you are buying this purely to sit on a shelf. But for anyone building a Dagobah corner of a Star Wars collection, or picking this up for a kid who wants hands on training play, it earns its spot. The minifigure trio alone makes it worth a look for figure collectors even if the hut itself is a supporting player.
Where It Fits On the Shelf
I would pair this one with a small swamp themed diorama base, some green and brown foliage pieces, and a bit of loose green baseplate to sink the hut into rather than a flat white shelf. It also plays nicely next to any Empire Strikes Back themed builds if you want to tell the fuller Dagobah story. While I wait to see what actually lands from that 2027 wave, this one is going on my Collectiblz needs list, since it fills a specific gap in my Star Wars shelf and I would rather build toward Dagobah now than wait a year and a half for confirmation on anything else. You can see the rest of what I am chasing on my needs list if you want to compare notes.
