Dory: The Joyful Blue Tang Brings Ocean Heart to Disney Infinity
Finding My Way to Dory: Pixar's Unforgettable Ocean Companion
Oh, where do I even begin with the Dory Disney Infinity figure? This adorable blue tang absolutely captured my heart from the moment I spotted her in my collection queue. When I first watched Finding Nemo as a kid, I was instantly enchanted by Dory's optimistic spirit and hilarious short-term memory jokes. As a grown-up collector rediscovering these movies through Disney Infinity, I find myself equally charmed by this little fish who just keeps swimming through life with such joy and determination.
The sculpt of the Dory Disney Infinity figure is just magical. She's captured mid-swim in her iconic electric blue coloring, with that distinctive yellow stripe pattern beautifully painted along her fins. The artists paid such wonderful attention to detail - from her expressive eyes to the subtle gradations in her blue shade. The figure stands on a clear base that makes her look like she's floating through the ocean itself. Her pose is playful and dynamic, with her little fins positioned as if she's gliding gracefully through the water. The level of detail in her scales and fin work shows just how much care went into bringing this beloved character to life in Disney Infinity form.
In the Disney Infinity games, Dory brings aquatic charm and humor to your playset. She appears in Disney Infinity 1.0 and carried through subsequent versions, and her character abilities reflect her journey as both a companion and a hero. Her gameplay style tends toward the speedier, more nimble characters - fitting for a fish who needs to navigate through various ocean-themed play sets. The Finding Nemo and Finding Dory play sets unlock special adventures where Dory's story takes center stage, letting you experience some of the most beloved moments from both films.
What really strikes me about this figure is how it immortalizes one of Pixar's most quotable characters. "When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming," Dory tells Marlin, and honestly, that message has followed me through so many chapters of my life. Holding this figure in my hands reminds me of those magical animated moments - watching Dory's friendship with Marlin develop, her brave journey in Finding Dory to reunite with her family. The sculptors managed to capture not just her appearance, but her spirit.
For collectors like me, the Dory figure represents a perfect example of how Disney Infinity bridged multiple toy lines and fan bases. She's common enough that most collectors can find her, but that accessibility shouldn't diminish how delightful she is to own and display. The detail level rivals rare figures, and the character recognition is absolutely universal. Whether you're a devoted Pixar fan, a Disney Infinity completionist, or someone who grew up adoring Finding Nemo, Dory is a must-have for your collection.
I've been thinking about adding her to my needs list in the Collectiblz app - because honestly, having multiple versions (maybe a variant paint job or a Crystal variant, if one exists) would be wonderful. You can check out my Disney Infinity needs list to see what other figures I'm still hunting for! Right now, I'm just thrilled to have found this beautiful Dory figure and to add her to my growing collection of ocean-loving, adventure-seeking Disney icons.
Display her on a shelf with your other Pixar collectibles, or keep her front and center as a daily reminder that you've got this. Whether you're 8 or 38, Dory's optimism is contagious. And in the world of Disney Infinity figures, she's one of those perfect pieces that brings pure joy every time you look at her.
